Old Fall River Road in Rocky Mountain National Park will be closed from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday because of construction work in the parking lot at the high-altitude Alpine Visitor Center, according to park spokeswoman Kyle Patterson.
Due to paving and curb work, traffic coming into the parking lot from Fall River Road has become a safety concern.
Motorists who arrive before 8 a.m. should expect delays as they leave the road at the visitor center.
The closure may last into Friday morning.
The Alpine Visitor Center at 11,796 feet is just off U.S. 34 near the top of Trail Ridge Road.
