TUMWATER, Washington (Isabelle Zehnder reporting) -- There are a glut of missing persons' cases that have not been solved, leaving families, friends, and communities to suffer - but Sunday there is one case that has a happy ending.
Adam Clifford, 19, went missing over a week ago. He reportedly told his roommate he was going out to deposit his paycheck and would be right back. He never returned.
Police reported he withdrew $200 from his bank account at 3 a.m. the night he vanished, and then cleaned the account out on Tuesday.
Sadly, Adam's case did not receive much media attention. Volunteers working on the Lindsey Baum Facebook page alerted me that Adam was missing Saturday, generating the article written last night: Tumwater, WA: Missing Adam Clifford, 19, friends, family desperate for answers.
A review of Adam's Facebook page raised concerns that money might have played a role in his disappearance.
Very fortunately, on Sunday it was learned that Adam's family received a call from him Sunday saying he is in Southern California and he's alright. Riverside Police saw his car, recognized the license plate number, and asked him to phone home to let his family know he was OK.
With all of the children, young adults, and adults reported missing, it is heartwarming to report that this story has a happy ending.
