Taylor Swift gets a shot of Petron from Kanye West
Taylor Swift owes Kanye West a a shot of hip hop marketing Petron , the teenage country singer whose career is about as exciting as a country mile and who has sold more than 3 millions records has been injected with a shot of hip hop steroids . When you add up all the tweets , youtube videos , and television coverage this little lady has received , you must agree at the end of the day she'll be just fine as media watches her every move for the next 3-4 months . What Kanye West did was wrong but what he said was right . Beyonce's million dollar video's are hard for any celebrity to compete with . Is MTV guilty of a little affirmative action in this case? , you bet . Did Kanye go out of his way to shine light on the subject ? Did Joe Wilson? , yes to both . Both men got out their microscopes during these incidents .
Politics meets hip hop . Lets hope this does not last for long They say all the world is connected in some way or another , most people would agree that the events proceeding the Serena Williams and Kanye West-Taylor Swift public blow ups all stemmed from Joe Wilson's "you lie" shout at President Obama's joint session of Congress . You do not need a political science , sociology , marketing , or psychology degree to figure this one out .
The Kanye West stunt looked the most choreographed , reminded me of something you might see on WWF wrestling . Kanye , crocodile tears and all , showed up to do Jay Leno's show the next day with Jay-z and Chris Brown's most famous assault victim and Taylor Swift showed up on the view treated as if she was a rape victim . Looks like hip hops trying to cut in on the political circus that's been going on , that' a change .
Like Taylor Swift said on The View , she purchased her first condo before all this happened , but even still for a country singer there's nothing like getting a shot of Petron served of by hip hop mogul Kanye West .
P.S-Kanye apologized to Taylor Swift , I'm sure she said Thank You in return . I wish Kanye would grab a microphone out of my hand , I could use the publicity .Oh yeah I forgot to mention President Obama called Kanye a jackass .

1/2: Seems obvious to me the author of this piece of hack "journalism" has no idea regarding the popularity and value of country music, which has been in existence for well over a hundred years.
It is his prerogative and right to prefer hip hop over country. No problem there. But to argue country singer Taylor Swift is undeserving of merit because he personally finds her boring lacks logic and does not hold merit. There still might be more fans of country music in the US than there are hip hop supporters, but one thing is certain, country fans are fare more loyal than those of any other genre of music. Record sales of past performers support this.
To suggest Swift has now been “injected with a shot of hip hop steroids” is a suggestion that she and country music is un-cool and that only hip hop is cool, which is an implication whites are un-cool and blacks are cool. That is itself racist and terribly tiresome.

2/2: While I do not listen much to radio these days, I am a former radio jock and programmer and I know talent when I hear talent. Taylor Swift is by far a much stronger singer than the warbling Beyonce. But now that I have expressed my preference for Swift, a young white lass, over Beyonce, a black woman, am I to be considered a racist?
Kanye's action itself was racially motivated and those who support him as being right are the true racists. The fact that you made the attempt to connect this mess can to Congressman Joe Wilson calling your president a liar only validates my argument.
To wit, not everything white people say that opposes what black people say or do is racist. Get over yourselves America and start working together before you lose your once great nation.
BTW: Before you put a “pointy” hat atop my head, I am on record with the CBC for speaking out against neo-Nazis who attempted to sign up new recruits in my town of Chateauguay, Quebec, during the 1990 Oka Crisis. 10,300,000 CDS have been sold by Taylor Swift. Kanye is feeling the heat from T-Swizzle. It was suppose to be a night of peace and love and tribute to Michael Jackson. Kanye's actions took that away from the Jackson family and now the paparazzi that Madonna talked about, are on Kanye's butt. Have fun.
T-Swizzle was amazingly average on THE VIEW today. I thought she could sing before this. I love her but T-Swizzle's video was another average outing. I think Randy Jackson stated it best, "Every time you do something...Ya got to bring it !!!"

Yes, it might have been a staged event as the camera conveniently cut away to the audience and missed Kanye's actual grabbing of the microphone from Taylor Swift.
Kanye approached, encroached, and then poached the microphone from Taylor Swift, and that is grounds for an assault charge. This would also reduce the motivation to stage such events in the future, if in fact this one was staged.
As for treating Taylor Swift like an "r" victim on the View, did you even see her body language after Kanye left the stage, she looked like she had been assaulted.

Both Joe Wilson and Kanye West were wrong to do what they did and deserve all the public censure and ridicule that they are receiving. I agree with President Obama's comment about Kanye West. I have always thought he was one and now by his behavior, he has removed all doubt. Actually both men engaged in racist behavior. I seriously doubt that Joe Wilson would have called a white president a liar in that situation for saying the same thing, nor would Kanye West have jumped up and disrespected a black artist if they had won that award instead of Beyonce. Kanye was just angry that a white woman won.

First I will preface this by letting you know I am a Kanye fan. I have 3 of his 4 c.d.s in my car. And none of Swift's.
Now the real issue at hand. How unbelievably ignorant this author is. And this complete lack of knowledge for the music industry. I understand you(the author) would probably love for Kanye to completely embarrass you on national television, It would do wonders for your career. But you are not someone who has already established them self as a musical powerhouse within her genre, like Swift has. Also proving her ability to reach outside of her genre. If you choose to write about music know what you are writing about. Kanye's last two albums, Graduation and 808 & Heartbreaks combined have sold millions of albums less than Swift's last album Fearless. Continue living in your bubble, where you think other genres need rap's support to be successful. We know better. Swift does not need to be disrespected to help her career, nor should she be thankful for it.
A few things I'd like to point out:
1. MTV doesn't choose who receives the awards. The fans vote. The fans chose Taylor Swift. That kinda destroys your little "affirmative action" theory, which made no sense whatsoever. Giving the award to Beyonce even though she didn't win the vote would've been the equivalent of affirmative action.
2. Your comments on Joe Wilson are absolutley ludicrous. How can you say his comment had anything at all to do with what Kanye or Serena did? The entire tone of this...ahem...article suggests a bit of racism on your part. Wilson simply accused the president of lying and unless you can read his mind or his heart he said nothing to indicate he is a racist. One the other hand there is plenty in this (I'm sorry I just can't call it an article again) rant that one could point to which to seems overtly racist.
3. About your punctuation, periods and commas are supposed to be placed like the ones you see in this sentence. Not way out here like this .

You could have at least said that when Taylor was accpeting the award what she really meant by "Thank you" was "I hate Michele Obama because she's black." That would've made about as much sense as the other BS you wrote, and you could've fulfilled your obligation to cover the First Lady while you were busy making yourself look like an idiot. You could've killed two birds with one stone!

Yes it does. Whoopi is a racist. She's made so many blatantly racist statements during her career it would take far more than the little space I have here to list them all. What Wilson did was wrong in the setting in which in took place. He shouldn't have blurted it out during Obama's speech. He should've waited until after the speech and pointed out the fact that Democrats voted against an ammendent to the House health care bill that would've prevented illegal immigrants from receiving health care benefits, which is true. What Obama said was in fact a lie. Check into it, it's easy to find the facts if you're interested. The ammendemnt offered by Rep. Dean Heller-NV would've prevented illegals from receiving benefits. The Dems voted it down 26-15.

The person below me is harsh, but I think he is right. I think people should see this with a bit of an open mind. Sure it was rude, but there has to be a motive there always is. I don't think it was race though because if it was he would of never paid the "alleged" one million dollars he ranted about to pamela anderson for his video. It could been a stunt from the show to boost ratings and keep people talking after wards like its happening right now!
