FDR New Deal
Barack Obama's health care reform policy must be pushed through Congress . The public option will be included . There is no other way . Much like FDR pushed his New Deal through Congress during the great depression , the Federal government faces the unenviable task of making decisions and expanding it's powers for the good of the people . The unemployment rate will get worse I'm sorry to say . Obama's first new deal was the stimulus package that was used to stabilize banks , support Wall Street , and hand out unemployment benefits to millions . The government swallowed as many banks as it could and sold the others . FDR faced the same opposition in the 1930's when he wanted to increase spending but citizens did not like the idea of the government going into so much debt . Health care reform has been chosen by the Obama administration economists as the least obtrusive and most beneficial way to redistribute some of the nations wealth from the haves to the have nots . Everybody on top of the equation will be taking a financial cut to help out those on the bottom . HMO's , staff doctors , state hospitals , insurance companies , they all will feel the pinch on their bottom line . Americans will get quality health care ideally at a much cheaper price , so take the money , do not be stupid and let your Congressman who makes 200k a year and is being lobbied (wined & dined ) by big health care companies confuse you .
Purely Hypothetical
What if , hypothetically speaking , Sarah Palin was approached by a large health care organization that had studied Barack Obama's new deal health care reform plan and decided that it was not in their best financial interest to go along with it . They knew that the Democrats controlled Congress and could push through any legislation they wanted to , the fictional Health care organization knew that they had to do something drastic , health care is a multi billion dollar business you know . What if this purely fictional health care conglomerate came up with the scary idea of "Death Panels" . Fear mongering! , I can see those over paid health care executives laughing in their high rise office suites now . Are you starting to get the picture in this purely hypothetical example . The U.S. citizens have been had . Do you really think Sarah Palin came up with that idea? LOL -Think about it as you slowly start to come out of the trance like state you have been in for the last couple of weeks . I'll put it another way to make myself clear , if Sarah Palin came up with the "Death Panel" sound bite all by her lonesome then we elected the wrong people , she's a friggin political genius , lets start the impeachment proceedings of Obama right now !!!!!! Are you starting to see the Big Picture? Do you see?
I'm not saying health care reform will be some big cure all , there will be other New Deal policies , but take it , there are signs that the economy will get worse for the little guy and the Obama administration does not want to scare citizens so they are not discussing it , that's what I can say directly but they can only hint at . Like I said before , health care reform is the smartest and most beneficial way in these horrible financial times for the government to redistribute some of the nations wealth by paying health care organizations less . Take the health care package , support the public option , at least you will have adequate health care when things get worse . If health care organiztions revolt and we start hearing of doctors refusing patients then there are a bunch of lawyers waiting to get paid .

By your own admission the Stimulus plan is not doing what he said it would do. Yet, you still think that the Government needs to be "making decisions and expanding it's powers for the good of the people." the government has messed up everything it tries to do, yet you want to grant it the power to take over 1/6 of the economy and be in charge and control over the health and well being of all. Why? They can not even administer the cash for clunkers program, yet you want to trust them with healthcare? They have run Medicare and the postal service bankrupt and yet you want to jepordize 1/6 of the economy. They were dead wrong on the stimulus, they were two trillion off on their ten year forecast, and yet the reason you give for supporting healthcare reform is that "he economy will get worse for the little guy and the Obama administration does not want to scare citizens so they are not discussing it." Well, who is in charge of the economy??

having not been in a stuporous state for the last two weeks or for the last 30 years, i have known for a long time that liberal democrats always attack any problem by, figuratively speaking, curing an ant infection in the kitchen by burning down the whole house and then blaming it on the republicans.
do the math yourself. obama/pelosi bill would spend l.3 trillion dollars we don't have to secure health insurance for ll million poor or uninsurable people.
obama is passing up a chance to reduce medicl expenses by l5-20%because he, and other dems. have taken millions of dollars in "campaign contributions" from trial lawyers and their associations to protect their ability to sue for outrageous and mostly bogus lawsuits against doctors, hospitals, clinics, pharmaceutical companies, and medical equipment manufacturers.

Yep, you are right! As our usa manufacturing base has been shipped to china during the Bush watch, we are not anymore a producing economy but a consumering economy. Many people are going to be unemployed.
The only way that can help the litle joe is to implement Public Option to cover people healthcare expenses.
