Magic: The Gathering Scars of Mirrodin spoiler season is in session, with a staggering revelation in Contagion Clasp, found in Duel Decks: Elspeth vs. Tezzeret. Contagion Clasp speaks volumes about Scars of Mirrodin, and it speaks them loudly, with our second watermark and new keyword - Proliferate.
Contagion Clasp

Artifact Uncommon
When Contagion Clasp enters the battlefield, put a -1/-1 counter on target creature.
4,T: Proliferate. (You choose any number of permanents and/or players with counters on them, then give each another counter of a kind already there.)
Contagion Clasp offers a -1/-1 counter at the very least for 2 colorless mana, which isn't bad at all. But the new keyword, Proliferate, is something else. Scars of Mirrodin is looking to be an extremely counter heavy set, featuring Infect (poison counters AND -1/-1 counters!) and of course it works on planeswalkers of all shapes and sizes.
Contagion Clasp looks like a perfectly sized uncommon for limited play, allowing the removal of a small threat upon entry, and having an impressive late game ability if things go long. Proliferate may not be that great at 4 mana for one -1/-1 counter or one +1/+1 counter, but since it can choose any number of targets, this keyword is downright prolific!
Contagion Clasp also confirms suspicions of a "warring watermarks" affiliation oriented Scars of Mirrodin - this symbol convincingly representing Phyrexia. Tis the season to be spoiler for Scars of Mirrodin - bring a big bag of dice for Scars of Mirrodin come October because this set looks like you'll need a bundle to keep track of things!

Woot! I was just thinking about how we only have a month until pre-release and hadn't had a "real" card spoiled yet. I really like the idea of this card, especially from the limited POV, which is exclusively the kind of player I am.
