When children with life-threatening illnesses make a wish, it's for a trip to Central Florida nearly half the time. Many different organizations, like Make a Wish, grant trips to places like Walt Disney World, Universal Orlando Resort, and SeaWorld Orlando, but did you know that the families get to stay at a magical place when they visit Florida?
Give Kids the World Village, located just off east 192, is a home away from home for terminally ill youngsters and their families. Better yet, it's a place where they can feel normal and have fun. Even the carousel and horse-drawn wagon rides are wheelchair accessible, and Christmas and Halloween are celebrated every week of the year. Want ice cream for breakfast? No problem! The kids can enjoy that, too.
Check out the list accompanying this article for scenes from this amazing place. Families stay in the villas and visit them theme parks, and they also get to participating in all the fun activities at Give Kids the World. The not for profit resort is run on donations and with the help of volunteers, so if you'd like to donate, visit their website at www.gktw.org.
