The Palm Springs annual Cinema Diverse gay and lesbian film Festival gets underway on Thursday, September 19th and runs through Sunday, September 22nd. Cinema Diverse is presented by The Palm Springs Cultural Center, a nonprofit organization which serves as an incubator for local cultural arts programs and events.
“We are screening a total of twenty four feature films and more than 30 shorts this year,” Michael C. Green, Managing Director of The Palm Springs Cultural Center, said. “This has been a banner year for LGBT filmmaking, which made the selection process even more difficult, but in the end, I think we’ve put together a schedule that may be our best ever.”
Cinema Diverse 2013 runs for four days at the Camelot Theaters in Palm Springs. “This year’s festival opens at 5:30 pm on Thursday, September 19th with a special reception for the cast of Southern Baptist Sissies, and will be followed by the Palm Springs premiere of Del Shores’ latest film,” Green continued. “The screening will also include a Q&A, and will be followed by an opening night party.”
