NBA: All playoff berths clinched, most first round match-ups set

Following the action in the NBA last night, all 16 postseason berths have been clinched as the regular season comes to a close tomorrow night. In the Eastern Conference, the Indiana Pacers will take on the Atlanta Hawk and the Miami Heat tangle with the Charlotte Bobcats. The third seed is still up in the air as either the Chicago Bulls or Toronto Raptors will battle the Washington Nationals. Finally, the Brooklyn Nets will take on the lower seed between the Bulls and Raptors. The lottery teams from the Eastern Conference are the New York Knicks, Cleveland Cavaliers, Detroit Pistons, Boston Celtics, Orlando Magic, Philadelphia 76ers and Milwaukee Bucks.

Over in the Western Conference, the San Antonio Spurs will take on the Memphis Grizzles or Dallas Mavericks while the Oklahoma Thunder will get the higher seed between the Grizzles and Mavericks. The Los Angeles Clippers will tangle with the Golden State Warriors and the Houston Rockets will get a first round date with the Portland Trail Blazers. Teams from the West heading to the lottery include the Phoenix Suns, Minnesota Timberwolves, Denver Nuggets, New Orleans Pelicans, Sacramento Kings, Los Angeles Lakers and Utah Jazz.

The Memphis Grizzles are 49-32 this season with one game remaining. Memphis has clinched a playoff berth and will take on either San Antonio or Oklahoma City in the first round.

The Miami Heat are 54-27 this season with one game remaining. The Heat are the No. 2 seed in the Eastern Conference and will take on Charlotte in the first round.

The division winners this season in the NBA are the Toronto Raptors, Indiana Pacers, Miami Heat, Oklahoma City Thunder, Los Angeles Clippers and San Antonio Spurs.

The Indiana Pacers are the No. 1 seed in the Eastern Conference, with a 55-26 record (with one game remaining). The Pacers battle the Atlanta Hawks in the first round.

The Detroit Pistons are 29-52 this season with one game remaining (against the Oklahoma City Thunder). Detroit will not be in the postseason and are lottery bound agian this summer.
