Brian Irving is a freelance journalist and libertarian activist living in Cary. He blogs at LibertyPoint.org. Irving served 25 years in the U.S. Air Force, primarily as a public affairs officer, at bases in the Philippines, Vietnam, Italy, the United Kingdom, Kansas, New Jersey and North Carolina. After retirement, he worked for non-profit groups in Fayetteville. Irving has run for office as a Libertarian and served as press secretary and newsletter editor for the state Libertarian Party.
