On November 25, the Honolulu police department began a new program of posting photos of drunk driving suspects online. Anyone arrested for Operating a Vehicle Under the Influence (OVUII), which is Hawaii's drunk driving (DUI or DWI) law, will have their photo posted on the police department website. Under a link called "Oahu's Drunk Drivers," all OVUII arrests will be publicly disclosed with the defendant's mugshot.
The current plan is to post mugshots weekly, with a new set of photos going up every Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. Honolulu police usually arrest 80 to 90 drunk driving suspects each week, and have arrested over 3,600 people this year.
While many have criticized the program for publicly embarrassing people prior to being convicted of any crime, Hawaii's Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) chapter applauded the program as potentially having a deterrent effect. The Honolulu Police Department plans to run the program for at least six months.

I am against this. After all, it's an arrest, not a conviction.
And my grandfather was killed by a drunk driver b4 I ever got to meet him, so I am sympathetic to MADD, other victims of drunk drivers, et al.
I'm also fond of our so-called right to privacy. Just because one is arrested does not mean one did the crime. Let's at least wait till we have a guilty plea or an adjudication of guilt.

I did a search for OVUII and found www.Ovuii.com explaining in depth about Operating a Vehicle Under the Influence (OVUII)
MADD is a communist organization!
How about we focus more on women abusers than dui's we've had far more many deaths from men killing their wives this year
I lost my son thanks to that drunk driver, Leenus Chock. He got away from it because he came from a family of Cops. The trial was unfair and he showed no remorse.
Leenus Chock is a drunk murderer who drove at high speed and hit 5yr old kid name Monica. He got away from the murder thanks to his family of cops. He is happily working at Aiea Bowl like nothing happen. Send this scumbag to jail and let him rot!!!
ok lets go kill him now
