A lot of people in Texas and across the nation had invested a great deal of time, money, and hope into the candidacy of Texas gubernatorial hopeful and political newcomer Debra Medina. It looked for a while like she had the potential to surpass the two establishment candidates Perry and Hutchison.
In a message on her website dated March 3 describing her as 'the freedom candidate', Medina said "Even though we didn't win this battle, we will not give up fighting for the people and we will remain ever vigilant to hold our elected officials accountable."
She went on to say "What We Texans have accomplished has not only caught the attention of the nation and the world but it has inspired as only truth can inspire. ..Our freedom is being stripped away and I will continue to press our cause."
Medina will speak at a Constitutional event with Oathkeeper Sheriff Richard Mack and attorney Tim Baldwin in Carl's Cove Texas March 6th. [Details at Drawaline.org.]
Many of Medina's supporters were angered by her remarks on a Dallas radio show agreeing that 9/11 truthers are 'despicable'. Some asked for refunds of the donations they had made. Alex Jones gained widespread attention to the issue after he read and discussed the L.A. County Libertarian Examiner article Debra Medina agrees that 9/11 truthers' beliefs are 'despicable'. He angrily admonished Medina for her betrayal and called her a 'traitor'.
Some who doubt the government version of 9/11 voted for Medina despite her remarks, since her policy positions are clearly superior to the establishment candidates. I contend that Medina deserved to lose because she so easily caved to the whim and will of establishment pressure. Questioning the government on an issue as grave and imperitive as 9/11 is a valiant and moral stance to take.
Medina is finished politically because the neocons will never support her and her potential base of constitutionalists and truthers is largely alienated. Good riddance to a political novice who betrayed those who were so sadly desperate for a person of character. Good luck on the patriot talk show circuit, Medina. If I had even a small part in exposing this fraud, I am overjoyed.

BRAVO Martin!!! You cover the stories well, and with the utmost INTEGRITY! Keep up the good work!
She didn't flip, she buckled. As to that last point that it would be ridiculous to think that our government would not be complicit in the deaths of citizens/subjects:
Roe.
"Medina is finished politically because the neocons will never support her and her potential base of constitutionalists and truthers is largely alienated."
She didn't alienate the constitutionalist's, maybe the truthers. Besides, the truthers, the radical ones, don't make up that large of a base. The others, the rational ones, realize how and why Medina did it. You can't and never will be able to, run a candidate on 9/11 truth. Only the foolish or stubborn seem to think that. Though 9/11 is starting to come to the mainstream, it continues to be the third rail in politics and will continue too as long as people can't believe their government is capable of murder (and most are too ignorant to find out).
"Good riddance to a political novice who betrayed those who were so sadly desperate for a person of character."
She had character, only the die hard Glenn Beck's, Alex Jones or ignorant/lazy are incapable of seeing it. The ones that actually got to know her; know about her platform and what it stood for. 9/11 was simply a way to derail like any other accusation, racist, bigot, etc.
It really doesn't matter, anyone who understands Austrian Economics, like Medina did, knows that she was our last best chance for some kind of fiscal sanity. America is finished, the dollar will crash and America will fall; buckling under its own weight of spending madness. So, go ahead and pat yourself on the back for, "exposing this fraud", someone who dealt with the provable and tangible, what is right in front of our face and totally mainstream, our spending and debt.
"I am overjoyed."
And I hope it gives you comfort when eating and survival will replace what is presently important in this country. Medina was running on states' rights to try to hopefully separate us a little from the implosion of the federal government. But, like Russia, Argentina and Zimbabwe we too will fall and then maybe we will know the truth of 9/11, if anyone at that time cares anymore. So, congratulations Martin, you did your part in proving a topic that those who understand America's true plight as well as Texas'; in the next 3-4 years (if we have that long) couldn't give a rats about. We're busy preparing for Economic Armageddon. So, take heart and I hope that this little article keeps you warm and well fed when hyperinflation comes a calling. Because Medina understood, as a number of us in this country do, that it is important to insulate us as a state from the black hole that will be the federal government and our country.
I think there must be some more compassion when we are dealing with politicians. Its hard to built a career on public approval and I think the article was very mean on Debra.
