Internationally acclaimed Dancehall/Reggae singer, Barrington Levy, will unveil his 29th and, possibly, last studio album/compilation this week.
It’s About Time, Levy’s much talked about project, will be released via Black Roses Entertainment; featuring several prominent local and international acts. The album’s regarded by many fans and Dancehall observers as his most anticipated album since 1998’s Living Dangerously that featured Dancehall superstar, Bounty Killer for the album’s classic title track, as well as American hip-hop superstar, Snoop Dogg.
Snoop features once again alongside Levy for It’s About Time along with fellow rapper Jadakiss and Jamaican-born hip-hop stars, Busta Rhymes as well as the late Heavy D. Love Me Like This features Heavy D, who recently passed away at his Los Angeles home of complications from pneumonia at the age of 44. The single was reportedly recorded in California last year.
Additionally, Levy’s new album features Grammy-winning Reggae superstar, Damian ‘Jr. Gong’ Marley, who collaborates with the Here I Come singer for the track, Healthy. A video for the single is expected to drop in early 2012.
It’s About Timecould mark Levy’s final studio album after the established singjay admitted last year that he believed he’d only tour and record singles once the project hits stores.
Levy remains renowned for many classic singles over the last three decades such as Murderer, Under Mi Sensi, Too Experienced andBlack Roses. He also featured on memorable collaborations alongside hip-hop star, Shyne for the singles, Bad Boyz and Bonnie & Shyne.
Earlier this year, Levy released the hit collaboration single, Gangsters, alongside prominent Dancehall superstar, Vybz Kartel and breakthrough Dancehall/Reggae singjay, Khago. The song represents the soundtrack for the upcoming film entitled Gangsters, for which Levy has a starring role.
