Christian hate Pastor Steven Anderson is praying for President Barack Obama's death. Anderson, yet another hate spewing homophobic Christian, is Pastor of the Faithful World Baptist Church, in Tempe, Arizona.
Aside from praying for President Barack Obama's death, Pastor Anderson seems fixated on homosexuality. His fixation is clearly unhealthy, and could very well be indicative of an individual unable to process his own sexual confusion.
Anderson trots out the usual Christian slander and smear on the gay lifestyle. Anderson claims that homosexuals recruit through rape and the molesting of children. Yet Anderson goes one better than most hate filled Christians. Christians usually mask their hatred and bigotry with a cutesy expression like: "hate the sin but love the sinner".
To his credit Anderson is not so two-faced. Anderson says what many Christians are frightened to admit: Anderson wants the death penalty for homosexuals. The source for such a draconian response? The Bible, of course.
Christian Pastor Steven Anderson wants homosexuals put to death, just as the Bible mandates. In addition, the good Pastor prays for President's Obama's death. One can only suppose that his flock shares similar hopes and aspirations.

I think you hit it right on target about his fixation on others' sexuality (and similar fixation in others like him). He is projecting his own insecurities, and has surrounded himself with a religious culture that condemns homosexuality so he won't be "tempted" to succumb to his own urges. The thing about self-hatred is how it feeds on itself and becomes a perverted hatred of others. I would almost feel sorry for these people but for the damage they do in the name of so-called religion.

But he's absolutely correct, Lev 20:13 - in a Christian nation, practicing male homosexuals must be put to death. There's no denying it, even though some Christian moderates will contort the scripture with all sorts of theological summersaults to try. But why? Why not just make the USA a Pastafarian nation, instead? Fact: Most people rather eat delicious spaghetti, with meatballs and cheese, than kill homosexuals. Lev 20:13 has nothing to do with Christianity, but Judaism. It is part of the law of Moses, which was only given to Israel. Not the nations or the Christian church. This pastor should know this. But the average stiff don't. I'm an atheist and yet I know it. Anyway, this pastor is a whackjob! He also should know that the Psalms contain the prayers of someone in distress, NOT the will or commands of God.

I hope people do not think that ALL Christians are like this. The Bible tells Christians to pray for those we hate, and for those who persecute them. This guy may be a Christian, but he definitely is not following the Bible's teaching on love and mercy (on this specific issue). I am a Christian, and think that homosexuality is wrong, BUT in no way do I want harm to come to anyone. I know some GREAT PEOPLE who just so happen to be homosexuals. They too think I'm a great person (unless they're lying!) who just so happen to be a Christian.

Even though I agree with only about 20% of what the Christian community preaches, that 20% common-ground (Which, frankly, is completely and absolutely necessary if these people ever want to connect with their larger communities in the style required by the gospels) becomes scarcer and scarcer when people such as Anderson openly hope for the death of their country's democratically-elected leader...

If we go by what the Bible literally says, and if we truly believe abortion to be murder, then he's right. The Bible says to kill gay men (Lev. 18:22, 20:13) and murderers. Still, I don't think most self-described Christians take the Bible seriously. They pick and choose what they believe.
They now allow for there to be female pastors, Sunday school teachers, school teachers and college professors when the Bible clearly prohibits this in the New Testament (1 Tim. 2:11-15).
The Bible also clearly allows for and instructs in slavery (Lev. 25:44-46), including sex slavery (Exod. 21:7-11). The entire abolition of slavery and the running away of slaves in the United States went against what the Bible says. The Bible clearly instructs slaves to be obedient to their masters on the same level that they are obedient to Christ (Eph. 6:5-9, Col. 3:22). Surely it says to treat your slaves well, but the standard is set as to whether or not your slave can still breathe (Exod. 21:20-21)
With the conservative pseudo-Christian fascist theocrats imposing their moralist dogma on the populace ever-more everyday, and with them spreading lies and hate against gay people, I take comfort and solace in the fact that the Bible they claim to believe in also says that you reap what you sow and that he that sows the wind shall reap the whirlwind. They'll have to answer for all of the needless pain and suffering.
If God is just, then he or she must surely reserve a spot in hell for creeps like this. I can only imagine the amount of needless pain and suffering his words will inflict. Words like his are the reason psychopaths feel justified in killing OB/GYNs who perform abortions and bombing clinics. Words like his are the reason young men like Matthew Shepard get put up on fences.
We may think that his words won't be taken to seriously by the majority of Christians, but you'd be surprised what people are capable of. After all, Nazi Germany was officially a Christian state.
I'm so tired of people saying Christians pick and choose what to believe. Well, I'll tell you something. Yes, God's people of Israel all had the mandate to kill homosexuals, etc. However, as Christians (since the Old testament is Jewish), we are not required and should not follow Jewish law. If you read the bible, you should know that the killing of homosexuals, killing of sexual abusers, killing of disobedient kids are actually only meant for the people of Israel way back in the day. If you have read the bible, you should verify this as truth right as the book of Matthew starts.

I am deeply disturbed by your words I heard at your sermon at Faithful Word Baptist Church. First, we are all children of God and your words of hate and distane sound like words of evil - not God. Your encouragement of hatred of President Obama is treason. As a follower of God and Jesus, you should be teaching tolerance, not hatred. Please stop your ranting, because if you encourage harm to our President, then you are no better than Osama Bin laden. He too distains anyone who disagrees with his views and insights death on those who oppose his views.
For the good of all of our citizens, not just the minority who agree with your views, but the ENTIRE USA, please heed this warning and refrain from encouraging evil. I will pray that the love of Jesus and the wisdom of God cures the evil you have in your heart.

...it's becoming common place that these pastors/ministers/reverends, churches preach so much hate and evil that it's a wonder why so many people are fighting their confusion about religion. God is the only judge in this life and if Pastoer Stephanie Anderson believes that his comments are going over well with the God I worship and the God that he claims to worksh, then he has not only a mental problem, but a lot of repenting he needs to do.
