Comedian Robert Schimmel died Friday night at an Arizona hospital.
The death was confirmed by Robert Schimmel's brother via Facebook on Friday. Jeff Schimmel wrote:
"ROBERT SCHIMMEL. Son, Brother, Father, Grandfather, Comedian, Generous Man. I have always loved you, admired you, and was proud to be your biggest fan. I will never forget a single moment. R.I.P."

Schimmel, a Howard Stern Show regular, was hospitalized last Thursday for injures he suffered in a car accident. The car, which was being driven by Schimmel's 19-year-old daughter, swerved to avoid another vehicle and flipped over multiple times off the side of an Arizona freeway.

Howard 100 News reporter Lisa G offered the Howard Stern Show audience a grim update on Schimmel's condition updated the Howard Stern Show audience on Monday, stating: "It sounds like he needs a miracle."
