Decor 101: How to make a DIY lace frame jewelry holder

Lace jewelry holder frame
Make a jewelry holder from an old picture frame and lace

This easy project is inspired by the Sepia Lace Frame Jewelry Holder from Urban Outfitters. The Urban Outfitters version was $48 and is now marked down to $19.99. The do-it-yourself version will cost anywhere from $5 to absolutely nothing.

Materials needed are a small empty frame and a piece of lace. In this case, a used frame and a used polyester lace jacket provided the free materials.

Cut the lace to fit inside of the back of the frame. You may want to stiffen the lace by soaking it in a mix of glue and water and allowing it to try. Using super glue or a glue gun, glue one short edge of the lace to the back of the frame and allow to dry completely. Pull the lace taut and glue the opposite edge, holding it until it dries. Glue the remaining two edges. You may want to reinforce the glued edge with a strip of thin cardboard such as a used greeting card.

See the attached photos for a step-by-step description.
