Candy cane holders are a quick and easy project to transform ordinary candy canes into cute small gifts, tree ornaments and gift toppers. Requiring only felt, glue, a small hole punch and cutting tools, these are also excellent projects to make with kids.
And because the great folks over at Sew, Mama, Sew! are coordinating another legendary Giveaway Day this week, I thought I’d join in on the fun by offering up the following bundle of goodies to one lucky reader:
-Enough 100% wool felt to make about 10 holders. This felt was purchased locally from Wonderment and is of superb quality. Each sheet measures about 12” x 8” and the prize includes 1 and 1/2 sheets of black, 1 sheet of white and ½ sheet of orange.
AND
-1/2 pound of local artisan made peppermint bark from Knoke’s Chocolates. Since shipping candy canes is risky, I thought I’d let you get those yourself and offer a holiday snack instead. Fair warning- if you like mint chocolates, this stuff could seriously be your next vice.
To enter, simply browse through my past sewing and crafting articles and post a comment telling me which one is your favorite. Please be sure to include your email address using this example format “janedoe at hotmail dot com”. If you would prefer not to post your email address, you can also send me an email at jen@stitchsimple.com. Because I have no other way of getting in touch with you, any entry without a valid email address associated with it will be removed.
I will choose the winner randomly from all entries made from the moment this article is published until 11:59PM CST on Sunday 12/06/09. I will contact the winner by 5PM CST on Monday 12/07/09 and I will ship the prize immediately. This giveaway is open to US and International readers alike.
Good Luck, Happy Holidays and Happy Crafting!

Hi there!
I just had a look at your articles about sewing and crafting and liked them all. The most useful for me is "Sewing 101: What are French seams and how do I sew them?" as I am just a beginner at sewing. :)
Thanks for this great chance -- lovely giveaway!
Happy creating,

I am enticed by making your own origami paper. That stuff can be pretty pricey and it'd be nice to be in charge of the pattern/design rather than settling for whatever comes in the package at the craft store. The penguins are so cute and simple is always good this time of year. If I don't win 'em, I'll definitely make some if I've got spare time. Thanks!
