DOJ sues Arizona, but gives Black Panthers pass on voter intimidation. Huh?

Our world—at least, our Justice Department—is upside down. The DOJ sues Arizona for enforcing a federal immigration law, but dismisses a case of voter intimidation against the New Black Panthers.

Conclusion: Approval ratings are down and mid-term elections are iffy; to gain a certain segment of voters, the DOJ slams Arizona while Obama crams illegal immigration amnesty down our throats.

Surely, by now every sane person knows the lawsuit against Arizona is ridiculous. In their brief, the DOJ asserts, "The Constitution and federal law do not permit the development of a patchwork of state and local immigration policies throughout the country." The DOJ claims such a patchwork would “seriously disrupt federal immigration enforcement.”

The DOJ’s rhetoric is absurd.

How can the Arizona law disrupt immigration enforcement, when in fact, the law mirrors the same federal laws, which the feds neglect in the first place? Opponents also claim the law encourages racial profiling, but there is no evidence of this since the law is not yet in practice!

Despite the David-Goliath square off, Arizona’s feisty Governor Jan Brewer responds in a statement posted yesterday on her facebook site:

As a direct result of failed and inconsistent federal enforcement, Arizona is under attack from violent Mexican drug and immigrant smuggling cartels. Now, Arizona is under attack in federal court from President Obama and his Department of Justice. Today's filing is nothing more than a massive waste of taxpayer funds. These funds could be better used against the violent Mexican cartels than the people of Arizona.

On another take, the president as much as confessed to his true motives. When Senator Jon Kyl (R-AZ) privately met with Obama in the Oval Office, Kyl claims the president said:

The problem is, If we secure the border, then you all won’t have any reason to support comprehensive immigration reform.

Even some Democrats back Brewer. According to a Fox News interview, Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords (D-AZ) said, “We need more boots on the ground, not lawyers in the courthouse.”

Another contradiction is that the DOJ turns a blind eye to states and cities with patchwork laws granting sanctuary status, which is in direct violation of federal laws. The administration picks and chooses with a lofty attitude towards political advantage. Indeed, as Rep. Alcee Hastings (D-FL) once admitted: “When the deal goes down, all this talk about rules, . . . we make ‘em up as we go along.”

It is difficult to say which case is the most outrageous—the Arizona case or the already won New Black Panther case, which was dropped by the DOJ.

In Philadelphia, during the 2008 elections, a voter videotaped members of the New Black Panther Party brandishing a nightstick and taunting oncoming voters. It was a clear-cut case of voter intimidation, which the DOJ won by default. Incredibly, when the DOJ’s Eric Holder came into power, he abruptly ordered a voluntary dismissal of the charges against two of the three members and forbade the third member from “displaying a weapon within 100 feet of any open polling location on any election day in the City of Philadelphia.”

The plot thickens.

Yesterday, at a U.S. Commission on Civil Rights’ hearing, a former DOJ lawyer who worked on the New Black Panther case revealed some amazing claims (the DOJ prosecutor in charge of the case had resigned). The attorney, J. Christian Adams, said DOJ officials instructed (Voting Section) employees not to bring cases where voter intimidation victims were white (and perpetrators were black).

In contrast, according to Assistant Attorney General Thomas Perez’s testimony, the Black Panther case “was not supported by the facts.”

Several other former DOJ attorneys support Adams’ claims. Former DOJ Director of Public Affairs, Mark Corallo, submitted, in part, the following statement:

I am not surprised that the Department is attacking J. Christian Adams. The Civil Rights Division attorneys have no interest in the rule of law as written and passed by Congress — the New Black Panther case is glaring proof that the Division has an agenda. If Congress was truly interested in oversight, there would be hearings on this case and others.

The last sentence of the above paragraph is profound. If Congress was truly interested, they must go to work, earn their pay.

We need "justice" back in our government--cast your mid-term vote the right side up.

The majority of Americans aren't racists or leftists. They won't accept, and certainly won't act to excuse, racist thugs accosting voters at polling stations whether Skinheads or Panthers. Shielding the armed thugs in this case puts yet another nail in the current administration’s coffin, along with the other leftist politicians currently in power. The American people also aren't stupid. Attempted cover-up by DOJ and shocking whitewashing of the story by the MSM will be recognized for what they are and the majority will act accordingly this November and in 2012, which can't come soon enough!

Police officers where I used to live in south central Pa. informed residents often that using speech like "cracker" or the slang derisive term for blacks was a "hate crime" punishable by law. I can personally promise that if a white american had made similar threatening speeches and utilized the "n" word like this new black panther used the "c" word, he would have been arrested and charged in a NY minute.

There's so much going on, it's hard keeping track. One thing for sure, Obama really doesn't care about being re-elected. He just cares about pushing through his agenda!

Yeah, right. The DOJ is nothing more than a political tool now. Holder is a puppet. He and Obama are two peas in a pod. Serving the interests of Americans is not even on their list.

The more I watch, the more I read and the more I see, Obama is out to overwhelm our system and the rule of law. He is not acting in the best interests of The United States of America. He is a Chicago thug like the rest of his minions in Washington, and needs to be impeached. He has committed numerous impeachable offenses since he took office and needs to answer for his crimes.

You won't see this stuff on any network news, you have to go to cable. Even then it's snippets here and there because most of those airheads don't give analysis, they just read from a script.

Best place is the internet, but it takes time to find stuff.

First of all the states have every right to cut down on illegals. And they have the power to within their own jurisdiction, they can pass legislation to ban business from hiring people. They can get a work card or use e-verify and they will leave themselves and not come anymore, plus they can stiffen the fines related to hiring illegals. Its just that businesses finance politicains and business hire illegals, (white folks, they are not taking our jobs, our white brothers and sisters are firing us and hiring them). So this is just for show, plus I understand why this law is constitutional. I was not convinced, but after reading this article I changed my mind..take a look

The problem is this man has an agenda and aware of how short his window of time is to accomplish it, e'thing else is just collateral damage. It always was.

It appears that the Democrat Party is shell-shocked - finally realizing their leader has no bounds, cares not whether they all lose their seats come November, and oh the shall.

We should be at the point now that anyone wishing to express an opinion about race can do it without spewing out inflammatory cause words thereby inciting the public. His message is surely lost amongst his angry demeanor and unworthy speech and rhetoric. My question is why the media finds it necessary to make opportunity for such an individual to have time on T.V. or radio for that matter. There are other matters that should have the time of the thinking public like the imminent war with Iran.

DW,Wright, well said and I agree. This event was at first buried and then resurrected by the **media**. Why? I personally don't know the answer. It does stir racial tensions though--something we do not need. Our nation is already stressed on many fronts.

My intention was to expose the blatant contradiction the DOJ now represents. File it under "Selective Law Enforcement" by the government, which is intolerable, whatever the case. Lady Justice is blindfolded, the significance of which should be branded in the minds of DOJ personnel.

Dev, I think all of America is ready to scrap the socialist agenda. What the heck does "progressive" mean anyway? I think "progressives" is a misnomer.

Normally, it means moving forward, building on the (good) attributes we already have, not tearing them down and "reforming."
