Dose of Oscillococcinum (Anas Barbariae)
Most of us have recently been avoiding people sneezing on the street, washing our hands more frequently and taking extra vitamin C to defend ourselves against catching Swine flu. Though the CDC recommends Tamiflu or Relenza, there are a few Homeopathic remedies that have been very effective during all the major flu epidemics.
“In the 1918 flu pandemic homeopaths reported around 1% mortality in their cases, while conventional doctors were losing 30% of their patients. “
Homeopathy can be traced back to ancient times when Hippocrates found that he could cure vomiting in a sick person with an herb that actually induces vomiting in a healthy person.
In later years, a German scientist and chemist, Hahnemann, rediscovered the same process when he found an herb that cured malaria in a sick person actually caused malaria-like symptoms in a healthy person. Homeopathy restores the body's innate healing abilities; almost in the same way a vaccine stimulates our immune system.
Dana Ullman of Homeopathic Educational Services states:
"Each person has their own "species" of an illness." One's specific symptoms are unique; pointing to the way “your” body deals with illness, and may be different from person to person. So, the symptoms are not suppressed (like most modern over-the-counter medicines are fashioned to do), but rather, Homeopathy stimulates your body's defenses by giving you nano doses of substances that would cause those symptoms in a healthy person. Essentially, supporting the theory that "like cures like," or as stated above, how our vaccines stimulate our body's innate defense mechanisms.

Perhaps the most recent use of homeopathy in a major epidemic was during the Influenza Pandemic of 1918. The Journal of the American Institute for Homeopathy, May, 1921, had a long article about the use of homeopathy in the flu epidemic. Dr. T A McCann, from Dayton, Ohio, reported that 24,000 cases of flu treated allopathically had a mortality rate of 28.2% while 26,000 cases of flu treated homeopathically had a mortality rate of 1.05%. This last figure was supported by Dean W.A. Pearson of Philadelphia (Hahnemann College) who collected 26,795 cases of flu treated with homeopathy with the above result.
The most common remedy used was Gelsemium, with occasional cases needing Bryonia and Eupatorium reported. Dr. Herbert A. Roberts from Derby, CT, said that 30 physicians in Connecticut responded to his request for data. They reported 6,602 cases with 55 deaths, which is less than 1%. Dr. Roberts was working as a physician on a troop ship during WWI. He had 81 cases of flu on the way over to Europe. He reported, "All recovered and were landed. Every man received homeopathic treatment. One ship lost 31 on the way."
According to some Homeopath sources, the first method is to take Oscillococcinum (Anas Barbariae), a homoeopathic medicine that is manufactured from wild duck heart and liver, which are said to be reservoirs for influenza viruses.
This medicine is sold by the company Boiron, over-the-counter in most pharmacies and is very effective as long as it’s used within the first 48 hours of getting flu symptoms.
If you know you have been exposed to the flu virus it can also be taken as a preventive measure.
The dosage for adult and children 2 years of age and older is: one tube every 6 hours up to three times a day.
If the symptoms haven’t subsided within 24-48 hours the next course of action is to find that “more specific” to your constitution remedy.
Early stages of cold and flu
1.Aconitum Napellus: For sneezing and runny nose, and the sudden onset of a cold and for sore throat.
2.Belladonna: For serious symptoms of cold, flu, infection and sore throat that come on suddenly.
3. Ferrum phosphoricum: For people with a weak immune system. Cold and flu symptoms are not vague but uncomfortable. There might be a slight earache, running nose and a mild sore throat.
4. Gelsemium : For fatigue and a generalized heavy, weak feeling pervading the person, even leading to trembling of individual parts and to having heavy, half-open eyelids. These people tend to have little or no thirst, can experience chills up and down their spine, and have a headache in the back part of their head.
For the mid-stage of a cold or flu:
1. Allium Cepa: For profuse nasal discharge, red eyes, and if the discharge is burning and irritating the nostrils.
2. Nux vomica: relieves sneezing attacks.
3. Natrum Muriaticum: Person has a thick, clear fluid discharge that resembles raw egg white. Lips are dry and cracked with cold sores on the side or outside of the mouth.
4. Bryonia: For body aches during the flu that are aggravated by any type of motion suggest the need for this remedy. Generally, these people also have a headache in the front part of their head which is also aggravated by motion. People with the flu who are very irritable and insist upon being left alone tend to benefit from this remedy.
And finally:
Influenzinum: If the symptoms linger on after the flu, give a single dose of this remedy in the 30th or 200th potency.
Generally you don’t have to go crazy trying to find all these remedies and buy them separately, though it would generally be better if a trained Homeopath finds your constitutional remedy and prescribes the correct dosages and combinations.
Most of these remedies are packaged by Hylands and Boiron as composite remedies and are package in adult and child dosages. There are even dissolving strips for kids.

Could you post a link to the documents you are getting your statistics from? I'm having an argument with my brother about the pros and cons of homeopathy, he refuses to budge without some kind of documentation.

I thought homeopathic treatment had to be individualized? None of the above seems to be very individualized.
Incidentally, the Dana quote seems to be implying that homeopathy uses very, very small (nano) doses. As we all know, it doesn't necessarily contain any dose of the original active ingredient and is stronger if it doesn't.
@Weston Davis, why don't you and your brother conduct a test of homeopathy. It might be fun. Make sure you use decent blinding.
The statistics from the 1918 flu pandemic aren't too helpful I'm afraid. If homeopathy was THAT effective for a specific condition like flu, some homeopath would have found a way of demonstrating it. In any case, the statistic assumes that the sorts of people ending up at the homeopathic hospital were the same as the conventional hospital. If the conventional hospital dealt with a disproportionate number of people who already had serious underlying medical conditions you'd expect the death rate to be higher.
The best way to cure the flu, colds, etc is to use the zapper by Dr.Hulda Clark. Done.
Of course John D. Rockfeller was a fan of Homeopathy - do you honestly believe he'd take the poison vaccines his family's organization (the World Health Organization - that's on record) are trying to scare the rest of the world into taking? Of course not.

The above remedies are the most common ones used for flu symptoms. Constitutional remedies would be far better, but the remedies work symptomatically as well.
In the 4c and 6c potency, there are traces and the less of the original substance the more potent the medicine.
Why they work? No one knows yet at least scientifically...but they do work. We don't know everything about the functioning of the Human body and scientific testing isn't infallible.
There are many thousands of people, famous or otherwise who have used these remedies successfully, just that in itself should leave the discussion of Homeopathy as a viable therapy up for future research (maybe when science catches up to the understanding of the "energy body" there will be more documentation in the future.
I caught the swine flu when it first came out. I know because I had the other symptoms involved with it such as dizziness and nausea and the only way I got rid of it was to take collodial silver. That was the only way. I tried everything else. I did not try homeopathy however. I also gargled with collodial silver. That was the only way to get it out of my throat.
Colloidal silver will also kill the flu virus.
What most people do not realize is that it was NOT the influenza virus that killed everybody in that 1918 epidemic but complications such as pneumonia.
Today we can treat the complications much better than the virus itself. But if you wish to stop yourself from getting the flu maintain a healthy diet and build up your immune system.
The agencies are just using this "War on Swine Flu" just as another Scare Tactic to get you to submit to their Killer Vaccines.
We say Killer Vaccines because in the last Swine Flu outbreak the vaccines KILLED people or crippled them when the flu itself didn't kill anybody.

Have heard of Colloidal silver's great antimicrobial effects as well as the effect of oregano oil especially on antibiotic resistant microbes (antibacterial and antiviral properties). A little care is needed to not overdose to toxic levels or induce argyria.
Agreed that it's not really the flu that is "the killer" but the complications that ensue. And the hype over this flu is obviously media induced, even the CDC in the beginning said this was a flu like most we encounter every season.

Actually it is very hard to take too much Colloidal Silver if the size is small enough because your body will excrete the excess.
If you are referring to that man that became blue from ingesting too much silver what many articles leave out is that he added salt to his Colloidal Silver which created a compound that does cause argyria. We will check our favorites and see if we can find the article.
The Colloidal Silver Generator that we market creates .0008 Micron Colloidal Silver and since it is so small a particle it is more easily absorbed but also more easily excreted if you take in too much.

This is false. The last swine flu outbreak was contained. Only around 230 people were infected, one died. These were soldiers, so we're talking about young, physically fit, well nourished people with no significant underlying health problems.
I doubt you'd find too many people who'd argue that, in the event, the vaccine wasn't more harmful than the flu in 1976.

The chances of swine flu or vaccination being the most significant health event for all but a minority of the posters in this thread are pretty small. If we don't all end up with swollen heads and stretch marks will that be a sign that you're over reacting just a tiny bit?
The funny thing is, there is exactly zero recorded evidence of Homeopathy actually curing anyone.
Plenty of personal and anecdotal records, nothing that passes any amount of scrutiny.
Anybody that has any brains at all will know why evidence of natural products "curing" anything can NOT be found.
In the USA, as it is in almost all countries, it is illegal to state that a natural product will "cure" anything at all.
You can only "cure" by one of these 3 methods legally.
1. Cut - cut the disease out
2. Poison - use chemotherapy which also destroys GOOD cells
3. Burn - use radiation which also destroys GOOD cells
Natural Medicine does NOT treat the symptoms but rather helps your own body to fight off the cause of the disease.

I had a Swine Flu vaccination in 1977 Miami and got really sick was out and down for the count for 7 days or so throwing up, high fevers, chills, headaches, thwo whole works...not sure if this will protect me from this flu strain...also Swine Flu is not the same as the H1N1 becareful and ask your physicians for further info

It would have been impossible to take a little bit of the Spanish Flu virus and give millions of dying people some of it and expect a cure. Homeopathy did not cure anyone back then. In fact there was no cure for the 1918 Pandemic which struck the world. Its victims were the young adults in the prime of life. Not the normal victims of the Flu. There was no vaccine and no cure.
If homeopathy limited deaths to one percent of victims coming down with the Flu in 1918 then how did as many as 100-million to 40-million, including 20-million people in India, all die from the Spanish Flu? It was only called Spanish Flu because in Spain they didn't limit the press tying its place of origin there. But there were victims in Alaska, Western Samoa; to the far reaches of the earth. And there was no cure or treatment for this Pandemic Flu. It left as it arrived, on its own accord. Your use of the word cure is a misnomer. Let's hope H1N1 is not too similar to it.
