On a recent trip to Stonington, Maine on Deer Isle, we found the ten best places to eat and shop. Number five is Island Approaches gift store.
It's just about the only place in town to buy really good, heavy, pre-shrunk cotton pull-overs, hoodies, and sweatshirts, inked with "Stonington" or "Deer Island" on the sleeve or chest. You can also pick up gifts for the kiddies including "lobster claw" pens, Maine-themed books, and any number of toys and games. A sure hit are the lobster-shaped gummy treats.
