On Thursday, June 25, 2009, Michael Jackson was pronounced dead by physicians at UCLA Medical Center. First came 
disbelief. Then came the questions, particularly after the L.A. Coroner announced Jackson did not die of a stroke, heart attack, pulmonary embolism or some other sudden affliction which might strike down an otherwise healthy, 50 year old man. And so, nearly from the day of Jackson's death, murmurs of a drug overdose arose. Those murmurs became outright speculation when U.S. Marshals seized bags of medications from Jackson's home. Among the medicines and paraphernalia was the drug Propofol (brand name Diprivan), a powerful, injectable sedative found only in operating rooms and Intensive Care Units.
Until the toxicology reports return in several weeks, we cannot be sure what killed Jackson, but the first sign of drug involvement came from the 911 call itself. Jackson's personal physician, Dr. Conrad Murray, told police he found the singer, unresponsive in his bedroom, at around 11:30 A.M. on June 25th. Instead of phoning 911 immediately, Dr. Murray apparently tried to revive his patient himself, performing CPR for nearly an hour before paramedics were called. According to forensic pathologist Dr. Michael Baden, "The whole concept of prescription drug abuse (would explain) the confusion at the scene."
Then there are the testimonies from those close to Jackson about escalating drug use, probably prescription pain killers such as Oxycontin and possibly IV medications. "I never witnessed him actually taking drugs but I knew they were there... and Uri [Geller, a Jackson friend] confiscated injection equipment from his room.", said Matt Fiddes, a bodyguard and friend of Jackson. Fiddes, however, insists Jackson ,"...was not a druggie.....It was prescription drugs and painkillers from what I understand." Jackson's dependency on these drugs may stem from an incident in the 1980's, when his head was badly burned during filming of a commercial.
Finally there is the most recent revelation by a nurse close to Jackson, her claim borne out when law enforcement officials reportedly seized bags of medications and paraphernalia from Jackson's L.A. home. Just days before his death, Jackson phoned nurse Cherilyn Lee, all but begging her for the drug Propofol to alleviate his insomnia. "I said, ' Tell him he needs to go [to] the hospital...right away.' ", but Jackson didn't heed the nurse's advice. Instead, he apparently convinced someone else to obtain the medication since it was among the cache seized and taken into evidence.
Propofol has only one legitimate use: induction of what amounts to a very deep sleep preparatory to surgery. It is not prescribed on an out-patient basis, it is not given for insomnia. ("Using this drug for insomnia is sort of like using a shotgun to kill an ant." - Dr. Howard Nearman, Department Chairman of Anesthesia at University Hospitals Case Medical Center in Ohio.) Frankly, the sole way it could wind up in Jackson's home would be through illegal means.
Propofol is a sedative-hypnotic, available only in injectable form. It is rarely given as a single dose, but instead administered as a controlled infusion. A direct, IV shot of Propofol dramatically increases the risk of hypotension, airway obstruction, and blood oxygen desaturation. Unlike opiates such as Demerol or Oxycontin, Propofol has no antidote. often treated by administering Narcan, an opioid antagonist. Narcan immediately blocks the opioid, often bringing the patient back to consciousness within minutes, if not seconds.
In a hospital or operating room, a Propofol overdose is treated by immediately ceasing the drug's infusion, then beginning respiratory and cardiac support while other drugs are administered to increase blood pressure, helping re-perfuse tissues with blood and oxygen until the drug is eliminated by the body and the patient regains consciousness. The time required to clear Propofol depends mainly on the amount of Propofol given and over what period of time as well as the ability of the patient's liver and kidneys to metabolize and eliminate the drug.
If someone did, indeed, give Jackson a shot of Propofol on June 25th, it explains the singer's quick lapse into unconsciousness. The drug would have entered his blood stream and reached his brain within minutes. Soon after, his heart would slow, his organs (including his brain) becoming deprived of blood and the oxygen it carries, his breathing becoming more and more shallow until ceasing altogether. If the physician found Jackson even an hour after that shot was given, it is unlikely anything could have saved the singer. Our brains cannot tolerate a lack of oxygen for long. Barring exigent circumstances (such as extreme cold), 10 minutes without oxygen means death.
How Jackson obtained his medications and the role (if any) physicians played in his use of them is currently under investigation. All prescriptions are maintained on a computer data base and the original copies stored for several years. It is these records investigators will be scrutinizing over the coming weeks and months. It's a daunting task, compounded by the practice of using aliases when celebrities are involved. It may very well be years before we know the whole picture.
Whatever the exact circumstances may be, one thing is certain: a man of great talent, his career begun over 40 years ago as a child with extraordinary charm and presence, that man is gone.

i believe that someone gave Michael Jackson an overdose of medications of Didvan that cause his heart to stop. I miss him already because he was a good singer and he was cute, my heart goes out to his family beside Janet which she was his favorite person that he care about beside his mom and dad. Michael Jackson's former chef, Douglas B. Jones, claims that he saw Dr. Murray leave the kitchen several times with waist-high oxygen tanks. He also said that Dr. Murray was often at MJ's house 5 nights per week. You can watch his interview on radaronline.com. He is a renown California chef, so I don't think that we would be spreading rumors for fame's sake. I'm starting to wonder if Dr. Murray ever intended to revive MJ and waited to call 911 because he was hoping that Diprivan would disappear from his system by the time he was hospitalized.

Propofol is used for two reasons:
a) the induction and maintenance of anesthesia
b) the sedation of intubated, mechanically ventilated patients in intensive care units
Obviously, Mr. Jackson was not mechanically ventilated, but your medication information is inaccurate. As a side note, the report of oxygen bottles in no way indicates mechanical ventilation. It would indicate supportive oxygen use. He was not mechanically ventilated.

Why Did He Die/ Because the doctor killed him why would u do CPR for a whole hour u no if he did nt wake up he was dead sho u should have called 911 so after a hour wat did u do wat whould u do after u did CPR for an hour I would have stop at 10 mints and would have rushed and called 911 tat doctor killed him so thay need to soo tat dr he was all redy dead when u walked in the room so y u bid nt call911 so there for he killed him
