Amy Beck, the 33-year-old teacher who turned herself in this week for having sex with 14-year-old student will stay in jail until March 25 and away from the public’s eye. Beck appeared in court Tuesday will return to court on March 25.
Beck’s bail has been set at $175,000, but her attorney said that she doesn’t plan to post bail. Beck has been charged with five counts, four of which are for unlawful sex with a person under 16-years of age, and one count of oral copulation.
Monday, Amy Beck, a married mother of three and a 6th grade teacher, walked into a police station in California with her lawyer and confessed that she had been having sex with one of her 14-year-old male students.
Beck confessed that they had been having sex for several months. Wednesday night was open house at the school. CNN reported that everything at the school has been going well, according to parent and student reports.
Beck is facing seven years in prison if she is convicted. She has been a respected teacher for 10 years. Beck was apparently guilt ridden, which led to her confession.
Police confirmed the story with the 14-year-old and he is no longer at the same school. There is no indication that any other students were involved. For additional pictures and information about Beck, see the CNN video by clicking here.
In August of 2009, two Salt Lake City, Utah teachers were accused and arrested for having sex with a 13-year-old student at Bountiful High School. One of the teachers later confessed.

I don't see how this could have all that negative an effect on the boy. When I was that age all I ever wished for was for something EXACTLY like this to happen to me. Every man I talk to agrees with me.
This kid was soo lucky. I remember in sixth grade I would have done anything to bang my hot teacher. There is no way this kid will be negatively impacted. He is probably a hero in his school.

Van Halen had a song about it. Hot for teacher. If it were a male teacher and student it is looked at differently. It may not be fair but that is just the way it is.
All I can say is where the hell were these teachers when I was in school?

I should also add that she shouldn't have done it. Just sayin'... the kid'll be fine.

sex abuse of a minor is never acceptable no matter the gender of the victim or offender. this kid will have lifelong consequences of this abuse.
I have to admit that there is some double standard. If my son (14) told me that he was having sex with his teacher, I'm thinking what a creative way to get ahead.
I always imagined this would happen to me when I was in detention with my 6th grade teacher. Ugly face, but a smokin' body.
