The man who would be King...
Vocal gun rights advocates, people who remind others of the intent of the Founders and a primary purpose behind the Second Amendment, are facing a new threat.
Per Drew Zahn of WorldNetDaily:
Rep. Peter King, R-N.Y., has sponsored H.R. 2159, the Denying Firearms and Explosives to Dangerous Terrorists Act of 2009, which permits the attorney general to deny transfer of a firearm to any "known or suspected dangerous terrorist." The bill requires only that the potential firearm transferee is "appropriately suspected" of preparing for a terrorist act and that the attorney general "has a reasonable belief" that the gun might be used in connection with terrorism.
Weighing in is Larry Pratt of Gun Owners of America:
"[Rep. King] would deny citizens their civil liberties based on no due process," objected Larry Pratt, executive director of Gun Owners of America. "A 'known terrorist?' Look, if the guy has committed an act of terrorism, we shouldn't have to worry about him being able to buy a gun; he should be in jail!...
"By those standards, I'm one of [DHS Secretary] Janet Napolitano's terrorists," Pratt said.
Gun Rights Examiner discussed the DHS "rightwing extremist" report here. And we talked about their "Domestic Extremism Lexicon" (what I call "The Devil's Dictionary"*) at my online journal, The War on Guns: Notes from the Resistance.
Here's what I get from King's bill: They will be able to put a person's name on their "prohibited" list using redacted documents that can be withheld from the victims under the guise that releasing the information compromises national security. They will be able to do this without having convicted that person of a thing in a court of law--the accusation is enough.
At least the Salem witches got a trial, could face their accusers, and hear all the "evidence" against them.
This is intended as an in-your-face threat against activist gun owners, a way to chill their agitation, and ultimately a way to prohibit them from "legal" gun ownership. And they'll get to the less active ones next.
I see this as a terrorist act, disguised in all the trappings of legality. Strip those away and I see naked tyranny.
Writing as I am for Examiner.com. I must measure my words carefully. I cannot express my contempt for and defiance of Rep. King in terms I believe this creature warrants. So instead, just let me make one simple declaration of my own, to any who would support this abomination against Liberty and to any who would enforce it:
I will not disarm.
Here's the bill itself. Read it.
Here are the web pages for the man who would be King and his co-conspirators :
Rep King, Peter T. [NY-3]
Rep Castle, Michael N. [DE]
Rep Kirk, Mark Steven [IL-10]**
Rep McCarthy, Carolyn [NY-4]
Rep Moran, James P. [VA-8]
Rep Rangel, Charles B. [NY-15]
Rep Smith, Christopher H. [NJ-4]
I won't ask you to contact them...politely.
The bill has been referred to the House Judiciary Committee. While we're told the Obama administration is not interested in a high profile gun fight at the present (preferring to slip things in more quietly), it does not take much to imagine a high-profile incident being exploited to bring this to the front burner.
Here are the committee members. While many are instantly recognizable as notorious gun grabbers themselves, you may want to contact them. At the very least, I'd ask you to contact your own representative and share with them your candid assessment of this bill and the motives behind it.
I'd say be careful not to get placed on any "terrorist no-buy list," but frankly, with the gang now presuming to rule us, the very act of exercising your First Amendment-protected right to petition over this issue may be enough these days.

** Thanks a lot, Illinois 10th District Republicans, for returning Mark Kirk to power. I did what I could to warn against this...thing, but "pragmatic" special interests/disinterest and gun owner ignorance/apathy worked their special magic yet again.

Brought to you by a New Yorkers.
Keep in mind Marxist do not want the citizen body to be armed. It gets in the way with the plans they have for that citizen body. A citizen body that if armed will never let the kind of government they Marxist want to put in place do so without a fight. New Yorkers lead the charge in pushing the Marxist agenda on Americans.
History: At the start of WW2 there were over one million card carrying commies in the New York City area. As time went on these people reproduced and the normal non commies folks called these people's kids, "red dipper babies". Looking at history to the commies that pushed the Marxist agenda during the 60's was the Red Dipper Babies. Peter King is of that age to be a Red Dipper Baby or have had friends that were. So it can be seen as a normal event that King a New Yorker would be the one to be pushing such a bill.
You chose your words very carefully, David and we get it. Whenever there is ambiguous language like "appropriately suspected" like in the Patriot act--we are all in trouble. Big Brother is breathing heavier and heavier.
I'd say the days of tiptoeing and being polite are long gone.
Maybe we should start our own list?
They are not the only people who can compile lists. Nor are they the only people who can deny certain things to those on such a list.
I am with you David. I will not disarm.
UN-_____-BELIEVABLE!
What is even worse is that should thy manage to cram this down our throats the only place to fight them is in THEIR courts. We no longer have any representation, or a chance at justice. Heller gave us the "reasonable restrictions" garbage that this would fall under, due process be damned.
They are baby (goose) stepping us into the role they have always believed us to hold, that of slaves or criminals to be done with as they wish.
I know which category I will fall into. So long as I live I will always be armed, the outward tools may change, but the true weapon, my mind, will not. Slave masters will never be safe as long as they continue their march to enslave us.
In 2010 we MUST replace them, then start repealing theses laws as well as giving the people they represent more of the power that has been stolen from them over the years.
Just wrote to my Rep., Jeff Flake. The contempt that people like Mr. King have against fellow citizens is amazing. I realize that this will be a protracted, uphill fight. I have to believe that there are many in Congress who find behavior like Mr. King reprehensible....although I am sure it is a shrinking number. This unbridled arrogance has to be stopped and it may have come from the individual states enforcing their sovereignty to tell the Feds to cease and desist. If this could happen on a large enough scale with multiple states partaking the citizens of this nation could then have recourse to take these anti-American hacks before a grand jury and charge them with high crimes.
Does anyone have a template letter I could use to send to my Reps? Thank you.
United we stand.
Rep King IS on the list for a visit to the hog pen.
Tom, fighting them "in their courts" is NOT the ONLY place we have to fight them. Restuarant, Transportation hub, Motel/Hotel restrooms and other "like" places are a good place to start. Just make sure you've lined up a good, hungry herd of Hogs to deliver them to afterwards.
Patriots at all levels of Government and Society need to take note of their position and determine how they might contribute to the coming "revolution." These tyrants and criminals can be removed from our oppression without the need for firefights in the streets!
Be creative, determined and effective!
Oink, Oink
What is "appropriately suspected"??? I AM "appropriately suspected"!!! By simple fact that I attended a Tea Party, and am former USMC!!!
Thank the Powers That Be, I live in Idaho! Our state won't put up with that kind of BS! I am a law-abiding citizen, can't stand fanatics in ANY religion, BUT I HAVE BEEN BRANDED A TERRORIST BY THE DHS! WHY??? For the simple fact that I don't agree with the current administration. Whoopee. Either do a lot of other people.
I am hoping that Montana secedes from the Union. I am hoping Utah follows suit. I do believe that Idaho will follow those two (hell, this state is SLAP full of Mormons, they follow SLC's lead). I love America, but hate the direction she is going. This garbage is NOT the USA I was raised in.
I would like to see a Republic formed by MT, ID, UT, TX, WY, NM, OK, NE, possibly the Dakotas, possibly CO, KS, IA. I'd welcome the former Confederate States as well. Let the West Coast Libtards fend for themselves. The Fed has lost it's mind. Let all the hand-out people head for the East Coast. I'm sick and tired of all those pukes anyway. Get a job. Vindictive? Oh, maybe, just a tad.
What do you expect from a republican from New York?? So-called repubs from Massachusetts, New York, Kalifornia, Illinois and other liberal states cannot be trusted to preserve ANY of our natural rights. Gun dealers are eventually going to have to decide, are they businessmen, and relent to oppressive, unconstitutional laws, or are they going to continue to support WE THE PEOPLE!? I wish there was a way to get gun manufacturers to stand up against the D.C. machine. Since they make the weapons and parts for the government, maybe it's time for them to cut the government off. If there is ever a revolution, which I hope there is not, I hope the dealers and manufacturers will supply the underground with plenty of ammo and weapons.
Well, I don't write for the Examiner, so I will be less circumspect. Although this will probably get my post deleted and me banned:
It's only January 2, and there are ALREADY at least TWO pigs dead, one at the hands of one of his own Brothers in Blue. This is starting out to be a VERY good year! Thank you, God! May you continue to rain your wrath upon them for so dishonoring their oath of office!
Got something to say?
