"Will CA Senate ‘committee’ even mention Gunwalker in de León media stunt?" Gun Rights Examiner asked on Monday, anticipating a community meeting scheduled for this past Tuesday by California State Senator Kevin de León and featuring domestic and Mexican/Central American law enforcement officials would be more about anti-gun propaganda to stump for additional citizen disarmament edicts than it would be about truly addressing causes and effective responses to cartel violence.
"De León Mexican ‘gun flow’ meeting confirms predictions," this column reported on Wednesday.
A citizen activist and correspondent who choses to publicly identify himself under the screen name "Threeper George S." attended the meeting and asked de León recorded questions, which were presented in Wenesday's report. He has since sent Gun Rights Examiner additional audio files as well as some photographs and documents from the event.
The agenda for the meeting is posted here, and a meeting handout, "California's Gun and Ammunition Pipeline to the Mexican Drug Cartels" is posted here.
The recordings are broken into four parts, with Part One being presented in the sidebar media player accompanying this article. Click on appropriate links below to continue listening to:
They provide an invaluable record of what transpired and how we can expect future efforts--and not just in California--to be conducted. Readers are encouraged to find the time to listen to them in total.
George S. deserves much gratitude for his efforts and leadership, first in attending a meeting which professional "gun lobbyists" did not, and then in providing those of us who could not a thorough record of the proceedings.
