Felon laments he can’t vote for gun control

“Ex-Con: Where Do I Fit In Anti-Gun Campaign?” the New Haven Independent headline reads.

The “ex-con” is James Hanton, “released from jail this spring, [who] complained that he can’t vote to retain or replace elected officials who have a direct impact on how thoroughly or not gun violence is going to be rooted out of his community.”

“A lot of us coming out of prison want to go in a different direction,” Hanton said, “but because we have these roadblocks in the way ... You’re saying in order to make these changes we need to vote, or we need to organize. What do you give a person like me?”

Roadblocks. Just put there in front of him. He isn’t being given enough.

The fault should be assigned to others.

Let’s go back in time three years, where we learn about someone imprisoned for robbery to “feed his drug addiction”:

James Hanton, 44, of Bridgeport, said that while he was on parole, employment concerns were placed ahead of treating his substance-abuse issues.

"I got into some issues with the director of the halfway house. His issue was work, work, work. My thing was that I had to get into some outpatient treatment, because being clean in prison and being clean out in the world are two different things," Hanton said.

So he can’t control himself and he won’t work to pay his own freight? But he wants to stake a claim on controlling you,  your rights, and how the fruits of your labor are divvied up?

And then there’s this:

…I said to the judge, 'Listen, I'm right around the corner from parole. Do you want to be my next victim?'" Hanton said.

Help me, before I physically menace again!

Yeah, that’s what society needs to root gunviolence out of the community: Give the James Hantons of the world a say on citizen disarmament edicts to help them overcome more of those infuriating "roadblocks."

What is it with gungrabbers allying themselves with criminals?

Hanton is clearly a whiny little liberal-type who still thinks the secret to happiness is that the world needs to change to accommodate HIM. He still hasn't figured out that what most needs to change is himself.

Or, maybe he should just move a few miles into Massachusetts, where he can run for office in a state where the only conviction that disqualifies you is one for election fraud. Then he could indulge his fantasies in the company of a bunch of peers who think like him, and share both his infantile worldview and his personal looter morality.

It would be more than just amusing if that judge were armed...

Neither the voting or anti-gun laws will prevent this person from imposing his views on future victims... unless they can meaningfully resist.

And maybe then we'll all get lucky.

One possible solution...... Don't let him out!

This is the reason he wants gun control. He wants a safe work environment.
In this story about the same bunch, they blame the NRA for the violence.

Following the damage inflicted on constitutional governance by Dubyah and Obama, Mr. Hanton unwittingly suggests that real inmates could probably do a better job running the asylum.

Quote from HANTON: "Listen, I'm right around the corner from parole. Do you want to be my next victim?'"

No, I do not, and that's why my family and I are perpetually armed, trained and ready for "rehabilitated" vermin like you.

Well, I'm one of those that look at the felons with guns issue, and ask; Didn't we lock them up long enough..? That jerk certainly needs to go back to the Gray Bar Hotel. Further, most, not all but most states allow you to vote after you have cleared parole. If he can't handle parole he can't handle being a productive member of society. Send his worthless butt back to the joint...
