"Drew Barrymore steps out in a bullet studded belt," the Mail Online headline informs us.
"The actress stepped out in a leather jacket and a tough-looking bullet studded belt as she dined out in London last night."
Disregarding the fact that UK "Authorized Journalists" don't know a bullet from a dummy cartridge (Hey, you don't expect them to take a moment and consult easily-accessed resources before presuming to enlighten the masses, I hope?), it's a curious fashion statement for an avowed anti-gunner.
From "Six Degrees of Hypocrisy," a column of mine Guns & Ammo Magazine published some years back:
"'People just sit behind their [expletive] weapon and they can kill somebody and it's just so cowardly.'--Drew Barrymore
"Petition signer Barrymore could no doubt lecture us all on courage; after all, she foreswore guns for karate in her remake of 'Charlie's Angels.' And she looked way cool, almost like she would know what to do in a real mortal combat situation."
The petition in question? One Handgun Control, Inc. (the name since changed to the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence, so people would think they have something to do with public safety as opposed to subverting unalienable rights) published in a USA Today ad titled "Open Letter to the NRA," in which they demanded limiting handgun purchases to one a month, banning "assault weapons," magazine capacity limits, gun locks and "a 'cooling off' period...[that] might just save the life of a child..."
But what are principles when you're a Hollywood elite, and you can send mixed messages with impunity?
Heck, why not have "gun bling"?
After all, the people who are causing the problems Drew & Co. want to hold the rest of us responsible for all have it.
Just remember though, wanting to be able to defend ourselves against such mutants would be "cowardly."
Drew said it, I believe it, that settles it.
That's good enough for you, isn't it?

Expendable patriotism
From Fox News:
"Sylvester Stallone responds to allegations his hit movie has a patriotic agenda"
Of course it doesn't.
E*Trade baby? Your cue...
"I want to show you something. It's my shocked face."
I'm sure you're all as shocked as I am.

OFF Alerts
I received two from my friends at Oregon Firearms Federation:
"Funding arrives for NRA/Brady gun control bill"
"Sam Adams...Need we say more?"
Go. Read.

Typical Hollywood duplicity. But thanks to Drew, I can now carry my extra ammo out in the open. Hope she shows up with a necklace pistol next. Viva open carry!
Drew Barrymore? Principles? Now that's funny! I don't care who you are!
(Appologies to Larry the Cable Guy)
Sure, Ms Barrymore is famous and comes from famous stock so she qualifies as an expert on almost everything.

Typical elitist behavior.
Another highly educated "entertainer" with loads of priceless wisdom for us little people in the peanut gallery.
I think it's impossible to post a comment.
"Ms Barrymore is famous and comes from famous stock"
Famous for being load outs, drug and spouse abusers. But famous is famous, right?
Got something to say?
