Brady troll stalking WarOnGuns blog a welcome holiday gift to share

“Why are you knuckle-draggers so afraid that the black helicopters are going to take away your toys?” a comment submitted to my The War on Guns: Notes from the Resistance blog post about a Brady Campaign plea for attention began.

It didn’t make the cut for this reason:

I just rejected a troll comment for posting--Here's a tip for getting insulting ones accepted: You can call me a knuckledragger, a paranoid, a whimperer and someone who would wet himself--but you don't get to do it here anonymously. If you want it badly enough, in your own words, "man the hell up" and come out of the shadows.

I figure I put my name on what I say about others, so I'm not holding them to a standard I don't observe myself.

I got another anonymous flame on Christmas Day, offering excuses why it isn’t necessary for someone who insults me to to do so openly, and explaining why it’s not important for me to post it just so they know I read it.  I actually read it the day after Christmas—I mean, jeez—it was Christmas.  They had nothing better to do?

And then two more comments were submitted to yesterday’s post about self control-challenged actor Michael Douglas once more adding his voice to those who would control us. I guess I didn’t hop to them fast enough for the troll’s liking, because he dismissed me as a coward for not approving a comment submitted in the wee hours instantly. Still, it’s nice to know they’re up thinking about me so late…

But that’s not what’s interesting and revealing about this—I ordinarily don’t feed the trolls and actually get kind of a kick knowing they put far more energy into what I say than I will ever put into what they do—hell, I had one amusing fanatic stalking me for almost a year and kind of missed him when he gave up—this one’s only been at it for a week.  There’s  a difference from the others here that's worth making an exception for and calling attention to.

Take a look at the Sitemeter visit record in the sidebar photo.  Look at where it came from.  And it shows the outclick was from “Post a Comment.”

Really, Bradys?  Anonymous trolling? This is what the nation’s foremost gungrabber organization is reduced to?

It’s like—so pathetic—I almost feel sorry for you guys. Maybe I will, once I stop laughing at you.

But truly, thanks for the late Christmas gift—I now share it with others in the hope that they’ll help spread the merriment!  And maybe we'll even have a holiday winner of the sidebar slide show guessing game!

UPDATE: See the two rejected comments here.
