Reports of the Obama family pet dog Bo flying in his own jet to meet the first family has sparked a media fury among conservatives.
First reported by a local staff writer for the Morning Sentinel in Maine, Rebekah Metzler chronicled the first families arrival to their vacation destination. Little did Metzler know, a simple sentence in her article would be the focus of conservative blogs and media coverage.

“The president was the first to walk onto the tarmac, dressed casually in a pale blue Oxford shirt and khakis. A few minutes later, the first lady, dressed in black capris, a tank-top and sandals, walked onto the runway. Shortly afterward, Malia and Sasha joined their parents.”
“Arriving in a small jet before the Obamas was the first dog, Bo, a Portuguese water dog given as a present by the late U.S. Sen Ted Kennedy, D-Mass.; and the president's personal aide Reggie Love, who chatted with Baldacci."
The article was quickly posted on the Drudgereport, Michelle Malkin blog, and went viral across the internet.
What should be noted is the first family had to fly in a smaller Gulfstream GIII/G3 jet, which seats up to 19. The jet most recognize for “Air Force One” was too large to land at the small Hancock County-Bar Harbor Airport in Trenton, Maine.
With all the buzz surrounding the article the Morning Sentinel was required to write a clarification statement to point out that the jet carrying the Obama pet was also full of other staff members.
Since the president is always accompanied by staff and Secret Service agents, one aircraft would not be enough. Therefore, the fact that the first dog arrived in a separate aircraft with other staffers is really no big deal.
The real story is not that the first families pet arrived in a separate jet with staffers. To quote the famous radio legend Paul Harvey, “The rest of the story” is the number of vacations and golf outings the president has taken since the BP oil spill in April.
Three vacations (Ashevill, North Carolina; Chicago, Illinois; and now Maine.), 12 golf outings, and a white house party with Paul McCartney. Despite a promise the president made to not rest until the Gulf oil spill is resolved.
With unemployment hovering around 10%, families facing foreclosure, and an historic environmental disaster; it’s easy to see why a story of the presidents dog flying in a private jet can easily be blown up to add to the growing disapproval for the president.

Yes, the private jet can chartered not only for luxury or business purpose, but it can be also used for carrying the pets.
I’m very severely 33 year disabled women and ever sent my cut back on SSI from Obama I had to move to a section 8 rat and roach motel with no work a/c or heater,.. I was also raped over 6 months ago from a known rapist that lives in these small apartments. There is no protection and no one cares about us because we have less than $560 worth in SSI(When G.W was in office most of gotten $1,287.00 and had good medical and the police others did care) and we are severely disabled living in section 8 trailer trash apartments,.. when Bush was in the WH I was living well in a nice apartment. Also my medical does not cover everything too and I have to pay for this surgery with help of a fund raiser that was put by friends of mine, also after paying rent and bills I have $30 a week to shop at $1 store for food and it's very limited at this c loses store too and it's very small! SSI is (Supplimental Security Income) which comes from the state you live in, this has nothing to do with Obama and the federal government. That would explain why the cuts. If you had SSD (Social Security Disability) that is federal and you would not have had any cuts in benefits

I was in DC a few months ago and had the privilege of being stopped on a corner while the Presidents motorcade went by. At this ONE intersection there were at least 21 police officers and 12 vehicles) When the motorcade actually went by, there were at least 12 cars in the motorcade with at least 2 people per car. One of the officers told me that "this spectacle" was routine at ever intersection the President's motorcade would go thru. He said Obama regularly eats chili at a local diner, and every time he does, "this" is what happens.
I quickly added up the amount of people and cars that would be needed for him to go the 6+ blocks to get the chili. Wow!! 126 police and 72 vehicles; in addition to the 12 vehicles in the motorcade and their 2 occupants per car. Add those salaries up.
How long is this vacation? Why wasn't one plane that seated 19 enough? Why so many staffers? Are his security team included in the "staffers?" Or did they take their own plane?
We have a ruling class; our federal government rules us rather than governs us. Moreover, there just may be enough stupid people who love to use terms like "hateful", "racist", "bigot", etc... to attempt to shut those of us down who see clearly what has happened. You know you are being ruled when those in power have lavish lifestyles that those of us trying to make ends meet have to support under penalty of law. We are there, folks.

What has happened to you is exactly what happens under untrammled liberal policies; the quality of life for everyone except the very wealthy and/or connected plummets. Truly disabled people are lumped in with drug dealers and derelicts, and become subject to both scarcity and danger. I am sorry about your situation. Hopefully there will be a decent person in the midst the systems you have to deal with who can advocate for you, and then we have to get the Eggplant in Chief out of office. What a mess.

Personally, I had rather pay for Bo's ride than Obama's.I have a lot of respect for dogs but nada for "whats his name".The dog probably is a registered breed,and came with legitimate papers to prove to the world where ,and when he was born.We have yet to see where "whats his name " was born.I live in a state that votes mostly democratic with a democrat as govenor but after "whats his name " has been in office one ,and one half years plus it is strange that I can not find anyone who will admit that they votes for him.You as a tax payer are getting what he promised during the campaign,THE TRANSFORMATION OF AMERICA.

I'd like to know why the President pays over $100,000 per year for his dog trainer, when a great percentage of American Citizens cannot even buy food; Senior Citizens are not geting Social Security Raises, and the first family goes on more vacations with taxpayers money than Carter has liver pills!
