Yes, you read it right. Kim & Scott's Gourmet Pretzels are going to launch a retail gluten-free Bavarian pretzel in January. Made with ancient grains and in a nut free facility, these pretzels are 100% gluten-free and will be sold in 2-packs at Whole Foods Stores in select regions in the freezer section.
This gluten-free pretzel has been in the research and development phase for the last two years and this Examiner can't wait to try them. The details on the ingredients, pricing and safe manufacturing procedures isn't available just yet, but the company promises to share more information soon.
At Kim and Scott’s, we really try and take variety to heart with each and every pretzel we twist up. One of our goals has always been to make our twisted creations available to as many pretzel fans as possible, no matter the food limitations or intolerances that we know so many of our fans struggle with.
Since this company is known for its wheat-based pretzels, this is truly a wonderful and unique development in the gluten-free market. Let's hope the gluten-free pretzel is made with some fiberful/healthful grains and that our local Whole Foods will carry them.
