Exclusive Sprint Samsung Epic 4G Review
A source from Apple tells this column that the iPhone is a definite go for T-Mobile. "There were talks about it, then strong rumors. Then, there were problems with the carrier. But now, the iPhone will definitely be available for T-Mobile." Unfortunately, I wasn't able to get an exact availability date, but it sounds like the very beginning of next year.
The backlash against the iPhone 4 hasn't affected sales for AT&T and could move T-Mobile into third place among the carriers, right behind Verizon and AT&T. T-Mobile offers great deals on plans and is now adding several cities for its high-speed HSPA+ data service.

I am getting an I phone on Tmobile the first day it comes out..
I'm about to jump ship from t-mobile but if this is true I may stay. I'll believe it when I see it!
fail
ho hum
was this source a reliable one? A source that has been right in the past? couldn't have anyone emailed about this and lied?
Just a curious reader, wanting to know the details...
My source has been 90 percent accurate in the past. The only thing he wasn't accurate about was the 2009 iPod Touch having a rear camera, but we all know that was taken away the last minute. I would believe him about this.
Guess Daryl is trying to get more hits on his page just like cultofmac did. How can a supposed source say its coming but have no idea of an availability date?
true
If Tmobile piccks up the Iphone it will pick up at least 30% subscribers ...
Alright, Daryl. I'm pulling for you to be right about this. You've been iCal'd. Either way, I'll make you famous or infamous on my blog. Give your source until end of Feb to be right...I too think T-Mobile will get the iPhone but only Apple knows when. As for Cult of Mac, given T-Mobile's schedule for the fall, it is looking more likely they were just trolling for hits.
Hope it's not the case here.
It is for certain coming to T-Mobile... UK
I cannot sign on any dotted line for anything. However, based on the accuracy of my source in the past, I think I can say that the iPhone will be available on T-Mobile. I agree--it sounds so tabloidish to say "source," but that is what I have to do. If I gave the person's name, he could be fired.
Do anyone really think that T mobile will be selling the phone for the same price? If T Mobile has to put out money per phone like ATT does expect the plans to be more money. T Mobile will has to get it's money back somehow
Can you list all of your sources predictions and provide links or archives of your articles with these predictions from the past, including their dates? I'm skeptical of just how many times this source has had "accuracy in the past." Only a few correct predictions on topics that are clear to happen anyway hardly gives someone credibility. The vagueness of the article you wrote combined with the reality that everyone knows AT&T's iphone contract is soon to be up + T-Mobile requiring minimal changes from AT&T's iPhone, makes your little prediction above seem more like glorified gossip.
That should quiet the Verizon iPhone rumors for a while. (It just killed me that some of the analyses of yesterday's Apple event said "there was nothing about a Verizon iPhone." Where did they get the idea in the first place that there would be anything about a Verizon iPhone at the event? It was billed as music-related. I don't read "iPhone" in that.) People are just so eager to see Verizon get the iPhone that they'll turn wishes into rumors into "confirmed" rumors with absolutely no factual basis. I personally think that Verizon is too heavily invested in Android and its Google partnership, and was too burned by the previous flirtation with Apple, to get back on the iPhone bandwagon any time soon.

What, like the author of this article with TMobile? XD
What exactly was the "backlash" against the iPhone 4? Sales have been through the roof and nobody's been returning them in large numbers. It was blown out of proportion by the media and tech community. Consumers (including myself) have loved every second with their iPhone 4's.
I have an Android phone on T-mobile that I would dump in a second if I could get the iphone...I know my brother who is also on T would switch as well...Hope it's true...
I know a lot of people say the iPhone drops calls like Snoop Dogg drops it like it's hot; some were known to spontaneously combust or something like that. I guess until an official announcement is made I'll take it with a grain of salt.
But I will admit, if this turns out to be true it will be my lucky day since I wanted to switch to T-mobile. (Everyone I know is on that network.)
My old phone just broke, and I'm going to get an Iphone. I've been waiting on T-Mobile for the IPhone for a long time, and circumstances being what they are, if they don't get it out in the next couple of weeks I'll be jumping ship to AT&T after more than 10 years with T-mobile. Sorry guys, get it done or I'm out!
+1. I've made the mental commitment to head over to AT&T, and I'll call T-Mo to see what they can offer me to stay (I've been a customer almost 10 years) - but I really hate my choices here: stay with my preferred carrier but have to use what is for *me* an inferior handset (meaning a hacked iPhone which can't access T-Mo's 3g OR a Vibrant, which is a great phone, but lacks integration with my MacBook Pro)... OR go to a carrier that I hate just to get a device that works with the rest of my electronic life. I feel like Goldilocks, looking for that elusive "JUST RIGHT."
I just know that the second I bend over for two years of AT&T service, T-Mo will get the iPhone and I will cry myself to sleep until I can afford to pay the HUGE ETF that AT&T charges on iPhone contracts. Good grief.
Isn't it true that T-Mobile is the "carrier" of record for the IPhone in parts of Europe? So, a relationship already exists between T-Mobile/Deusche Telecom and Apple as I recall when the IPhone was first launched in Europe.
Got something to say?
