Shatto Milk Company is a small family owned and operated, dairy farm located just north of the Kansas City metropolitan area in Osborn, MO. The family has been farming there for more than 100 years and began a dairy farm more than 60 years ago. In June 2003 the Shatto family began processing their own milk on the farm. They decided to bottle their own milk for the purpose of providing their customers with the freshest and best tasting dairy products possible.
The motto for Shatto Milk Company is “Milk at its finest." The Shatto family goes to great lengths to insure that the products they sell are truly the freshest and best tasting.
The milk sold by Shatto Milk Company comes from cows not treated with rbST (recombinant bovine somatotropin) or recombinant bovine growth hormone (rbGH), and comes only from the cows located on the family farm. They currently have 120 cows in their milking heard and the milk can be from the cow to the store in as little as 12 hours.
The Shatto Milk Company top priorities are to limit the number of times the milk is handled, and to process the milk in a manner that maintains its superior taste.
The milk for Shatto is sold in glass bottles. The reasons for this decision are very simple. First, the glass bottle tends to keep milk colder, and colder milk is more desirable. Second, glass bottles are environmentally friendly. The glass bottles can be washed and reused as many times as they are returned. Thus, recycling and reusing the bottles lowers the amount of material dumped in area landfills on a daily basis. Third, unlike paper cartons or plastic, glass imparts no foreign odor or flavor. Fourth, glass bottles are most notable in history for containing farm fresh milk from the local family farm, and that is exactly what you are getting from Shatto.

Shatto milk is the best around and comes in a variety of flavors including chocolate, strawberry, banana and root beer.
