While pound for pound rival Manny Pacquiao embarked on the second leg of a three city tour today to promote his upcoming WBC light middleweight title fight against Antonio Margarito, Floyd Mayweather hasn't been resting on his laurels.
Aside from placing bets, improving his golf game and posing with large stacks of hundred dollar bills, Mayweather has also started streaming his own home movies live from his Ustream channel.
You would be forgiven for thinking that this might be the perfect platform for Floyd to address some of the hundreds of boxing questions his ever faithful fans have been pressing him to answer of late. Such as when and who is he fighting next, what does he make of Manny Pacquiao and Freddie Roach's latest comments about him, or what his promotional situation is after his recent stop off in Don King country.
While he did take the time to field questions from some of his fans, which let's be fair to him isn't something that many fighters do, they were all strictly non boxing. Meaning that to the majority of his fans they were largely arbitrary.
While Mayweather does have cross over appeal to an extent, most of his fans remain fans of his boxing first, and aren't that interested in seeing his extensive shoe or sunglasses collections.
Talking to several members of the press earlier today both Pacquiao and Roach revealed that they had in fact agreed to fully random drug testing during the last round of negotiations with Mayweather and his camp.
Until now it was believed that Pacquiao had only agreed to Olympic style testing with a 14 day cut off, and statements from members of his team during the negotiations were rather ambiguous on the matter. Only going so far as to say that Pacquiao had agreed to the terms Mayweather wanted, but not clarifying that with which set of terms that was referring to, the 14 day cut off he wanted last year or the fully random testing with no cut off he asked for later.
This being the case then another question to add to the list is why he didn't want to take the fight against Pacquiao earlier this summer when it seems most of the terms had in fact been agreed to.
Claiming not to have been thinking about boxing a couple of months ago doesn't really cut it given that he now knows where and presumably when his next fight will be.
By the looks of it though, we won't be getting any answers out of Floyd anytime soon.
