Speaking to the media throng at the New York leg of his three city press tour yesterday, pound for pound king Manny Pacquiao commented that he feels Floyd Mayweather now needs him, and that he doesn't need the brash-talking big seller to seal his own legacy.
Not to be outdone though, Mayweather last night commented on Pacquiao, his plans for the future and even touched on the random drug testing issue, although seemed more reserved about that than usual. At the beginning Mayweather seemed cordial as he commented on the massing fan comments and questions, as time went on though and the comments became more accusatory, he seemed to lose his cool and launched into a foul mouthed tirade.
"That motherf***er Pacquiao he can't speak no English, he ain't never seen a contract he didn't like"
He then again claimed that Pacquiao only received $70,000 for a recent Nike contract, and also claimed that Pacquiao made $6 million for his last fight while he made $65 million. Figures inflated even beyond the claims of his team of $40 million.
"We all know Poochiao only make $6 million for his last fight and Floyd Mayweather made $65 million in his last fight"
One fan in particular seemed to draw his ire with comments about Manny Pacquiao, to which Mayweather replied:
"Oh man, don't tell me you're riding Pacquiao's d**k, three losses two draws, this America baby we built on winning, step your game up F***ot"
Perhaps most offensively, he also says at one point of Pacquiao:
"All that motherf****r can do is make me a sushi roll, I'ma take that motherf*****r to the Teppanyaki room and chop his ass up with some rice"
Even if he is enjoying his life as almost a celebrity blogger at the moment, it surely won't be that long before Mayweather makes a return to the ring. His other businesses and interests simply don't make the kind of money he needs to live on with his current lifestyle, not to mention that the million dollar watches he routinely shows off don't come cheap, even to someone who makes $40 million per year.
Aside from the ranting and arguing with fans who he marvels at for being up at 5am 'hating', Mayweather also says that he will be fighting Pacquiao when he comes back, promising that it will be a 'cake walk'.
So if nothing else, it appears that Mayweather does still intend to fight Pacquiao at some point, and that he does know how the public perceive his recent silence over the matter.
John Bradley, Pittsburgh: "I love how he's up at 5am arguing with fans on the internet while Pacquiao is on a press tour for his next fight, that says everything you need to know about the two of them right there"
Simon Jones, Wales: "If you think he's annoyed now, just wait til November when Pacquiao jumps above him on all the pound for pound lists again"

Why doesn't he just fight Manny, after all, Pacquiao is willing to go up to 14 days of blood testing that he requested, or there will be a new reason why he will not fight Pacquiao besides his fear.
Pacquiao agreed to the testing with no cut-off date and accepted the 60/40 split to try and make the fight happen. Mayweather on the other hand stayed silent till now. Cowardice at it's finest, at least we all know now WHO really wanted to make the fight happen.
