Welcome to part 2 of the Fashion Examiner's 2011 fashion trends: how to build your wardrobe without spending a dime series.
Everyone has one or two favorite items in their closet, the clothes or accessories they lean towards several times a month.
It may be a favorite pair of Levi's, that great structured boyfriend blazer, or that sexy little black dress. While there is nothing wrong with having a 'go to' wardrobe item, it opens an whole new fashion world when fashionistas stop focusing so much attention on only 20% of their wardrobe items, 80% of the time.
Focusing on only 20% of one's wardrobe leads to the daily dilema most women face everday as they prepare to leave the house; the 'i have nothing to wear' syndrome. What about the other stylish possiblities hiding in the back of the closet? The other 80%?
Before thinking about going new wardrobe shopping, clean out your closet. Remove every item in your wardrobe, including those old fashion magazines and credit card bills hidden on the top shelf. You'll be surprised to find the hidden treasures lurking behind those six bulky winter sweaters.
Why spend money when you have not yet worn your "stylish, still-carrying new tags" current wardrobe.
