Regarding the mosque planned two blocks from Ground Zero, former DNC Chairman and Vermont governor Howard Dean explained on WABC radio today: “there has to be a compromise here.” He believes that “people have the right to be able to worship as they see fit.” He also considers a mosque situated so close to the 9/11 terrorist attacks to be “a real affront to people who lost their lives.” See video below.
Common ground for Ground Zero Mosque
Dean says Muslims have the right to build there, but because it is a “very delicate difficult religious and cultural issue” they should look for a more suitable location. He believes the Muslims planning the Cordoba House in New York City are well-meaning; unlike others in Iran and Afghanistan where they’re “really back in the 12th century” and “stoning people to death.”
Coffee Summit?
Dean recommends a meeting to get the disagreeing parties to reach a “compromise so everybody is accommodated.” (Sort of like a Beer Summit, except in this case, they could serve coffee.)

Dean upholds freedom of religion and hopes the Muslims building the mosque will show flexibility and sensitivity and move their place of worship to a less controversial site. For this he is being criticized by his own party. Fellow liberal Keith Olbermann slammed Dean with this tweet: "I have respected and appreciated Howard Dean for eight years but he is completely wrong and uninformed about the Park51."

Comments
This isn't a compromise. Coward Dean wants people to give into the Christian Right completely.
Why not make the location a place of worship for both Christians & Muslims ?
