Washington Post report supports accounts of military personnel keeping UFO secrets from commanders

Vice-Admiral Thomas Wilson
Vice-Admiral Thomas Wilson denied access to UFO secrets

The Washington Post has begun publishing the results of a two year investigation into the world of Top Secret programs in the U.S. Titled: Top Secret America, the investigation aims to expose the waste, redundancy and lack of oversight of many of the Top Secret programs created in response to the 911 attacks. More specifically, it states: “The top-secret world the government created in response to the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001, has become so large, so unwieldy and so secretive that no one knows how much money it costs, how many people it employs, how many programs exist within it or exactly how many agencies do the same work.” One of the findings of the report is that the military chain of command is routinely undermined as personnel are ordered not to reveal their activities to their commanding officers. This supports the claims of whistleblowers who have come forward to reveal cases of military personnel being ordered not to tell commanders about Top Secret programs to which they had been recruited. The programs in question concerned UFO technology and extraterrestrial life, and commanding officers denied access included senior admirals and generals.

This is what the Washington Post report had to say about the military chain of command being undermined by programs classified Top Secret or higher (these are compartmented Special Access Programs ) that are very selective as to who has access or not:

Such secrecy can undermine the normal chain of command when senior officials use it to cut out rivals or when subordinates are ordered to keep secrets from their commanders.

According to a 22 year veteran of the U.S. Army, he was regularly called away for above Top Secret (i.e., compartmented programs) assignments involving the recovery of UFO crashes or artifacts. Clifford Stone claimed that he was instructed not to reveal anything to his regular army commander about his special training and/or assignments involving UFO technology and extraterrestrial life. Significantly, his military records made no mention of the special training he claims to have received for his classified assignments with “Project Moondust.” Stone claimed that he was initially given training in Nuclear, Biological and Chemical Warfare at Fort MacCallum, Alabama; and then given regular army assignments until called away to perform his UFO crash retrieval duties when required, and without telling anything to his regular military commander. A mysterious ‘Colonel’ was the individual who supervised Stone while performing his covert duties. Stone claims that when required for UFO retrievals he was typically called out for temporary duty (TDY) to serve between three days to a week, but in some international cases these could take longer with one month being the longest. His army service record refers to him only performing clerical duties as a typist; and has no reference to his alleged training for, or assignments with, UFO crash retrieval teams.

Another serviceman who was secretly trained and instructed not to disclose anything to his regular military commander is Dan Sherman. Sherman served for 12 years in the US Air Force. Alongside his regular military training as an electronic intelligence (ELINT) analyst, Sherman was secretly trained to be an “intuitive communicator” – someone trained to conduct telepathic communications. The Above Top Secret or compartmented program was called Project Preserve Destiny (PPD).  When Sherman was subsequently assigned to the NSA, he worked on a specially designed computer where he could perform both his normal ELINT work, and also work as an intuitive communicator when required with a group of extraterrestrials. The individuals responsible for Sherman’s training and subsequent covert work within the NSA were officers with the rank of Captain who would not operate through the normal chain of military command either within the USAF or within the NSA. The responsible organization appeared to be a parallel system that operated through but was not part of the NSA. He worked on PPD for almost three years.

The problem of personnel being ordered to keep secrets from commanders extends to the highest ranks of the military. Even four star flag generals or admirals can be denied access to programs by subordinates according to the Washington Post report:

One military officer involved in one such program said he was ordered to sign a document prohibiting him from disclosing it to his four-star commander, with whom he worked closely every day, because the commander was not authorized to know about it. Another senior defense official recalls the day he tried to find out about a program in his budget, only to be rebuffed by a peer. "What do you mean you can't tell me? I pay for the program," he recalled saying in a heated exchange.

This supports an account from a former astronaut, Edgar Mitchell, who claims that in 1997, he witnessed a three star admiral who was head of intelligence for the Joint Chiefs of Staff being rebuffed from learning about a compartmented program involving UFOs. In an interview on Larry King Live, Mitchell confirmed the following account of what occurred with Vice-Admiral Thomas Wilson:

Once Admiral Wilson identified this group, he told the contact person in this super-secret cell: “I want to know about this project.” And he was told, “Sir, you don’t have a need to know. We can’t tell you.” Now, can you imagine being an admiral, J-2, the head of intelligence for the Joint Chiefs of Staff, at the Pentagon, and being told, “We not going to tell you”? Well, he was shocked and angry.

The Washington Post plans to continue publishing the results of its two year investigation into Top Secret projects in the U.S. More confirmation can be expected to emerge confirming some of the accounts of whistleblowers recruited to above Top Secret compartmented programs involving UFOs and extraterrestrial life that are “need to know” secrets kept even from their military commanders.

Could this be evidence that the news media is finally making amends for it's sins, sins committed over 63 years.

The US news media has stand idly by and let the Truth be murdered by the Military-Industrial Complex for 63 years.
That have replace reality with falseality.
A reality compose of a massive Matrix of LIES, that has enslaved almost every human to it's LIES.
It's time for every human to become totally ignorant of these damn LIES & become knowledgeable on the Truth.
Free ourselves with knowing reality by not continuing to live in slavery to falseality.
The Truth will set all of humanity free! ;-)

I find it difficult to believe that an "advanced" civilization of aliens would share ANY secrets with either our military, our politicians, or anyone in the U.N. -- Even the "small people" don't trust THEM.

I can't imagine aliens having any interest in us whatsoever, unless they were considering us as part of a 3 course meal.

You did say advanced, didn't you?

I find this article misleading. To read it without reading the original Washington Post article makes it seem that the WP article focused on or at least mentioned UFO programs. IT DOES NOT. Bad reporting to use that WP article in that way. Undermines the credibility of this article completely.

    Dear Earthlings,
While we are not allowed to interact with you directly, based on an agreement with your governments, we can still interact with them to make sure they don't blow-up that prime real estate your sitting on. You didn't really think you made it this far without our help, right?

I read the WP article. It doesn't mention aliens. Nor ETs. I can appreciate the writer's enthusiasm that "supports" claims made by many that we are working with aliens. The problem is, articles like this only add to the confusion out there. On July 11th, 2009, my wife and I were taking a late night walk in our neighborhood when we witnessed a black triangle with blueish white lights at the points, fly roughly 50 feet silently over our heads and followed the highway, actually choosing one of the roads at a fork, and flew off into the horizon. The movements were "spooky" as the devices ability to compensate for the laws of physics allowed it to make a sudden turn in the sky with seemingly no inertia.

The event, unfortunately for us changed our lives, as for the first time, we looked past the bubble that society puts around "crazy" people so we don't waste time listening to what they have to say. This is how mainstream media reports UFOs. Sadly, I see that the bubble is not broken toda

I have to agree, not even having read the original article, that i could see the point made to be misleading.

Big loss of credibility indeed, which is a shame because the point is right nonetheless : if it is confirmed that some military are obliged to hide info to their superiors, then that "huge impossible ludicrous conspiracy cover-up" doesn't quite seem so impossible, all of a sudden.

And about contact with governments? That is a good question.
I don't know, of course, but i'd say that, considering even our "top-brass" military are far from being the most advanced of us, it's likely that those alien races aren't either. Maybe only the scum of intergalactic nations dare to break the rules and have contact... but i sure hope not, because that would definitely not bode well for all of us!

(I'm mostly joking, i don't think there's much to all these catastrophic scenarios of reptilian invasion and such - yet the world IS going so wrong, isn't it?...)

Fairy tale tellers always tell amazing stories about Santa-Claus, the Easter-Bunny, Nessie, Bogfoot - and (alleged) ETs. At least those ETs, who are claimed to visit our planet regularly, but no ordinary cititzen could ever present a tangible, unambigous proof for 63 years.

Well, reading some of these comments reaffirms my belief that many people are not ready for this kind of information. I am a veteran in the main stream media. A retired Military intelligence officer
once told me that it was easy to keep this stuff secret because most people don't really want to know about it. Its weird, its scary, and bizarre. But don't worry about it. Its going remain a secret for some time to come. Someday if the human race is ready, and they tell our great grandchildren about it, everything will probably be just fine. But hey if it makes you feel better for now, they don't even exist. Take a sleeping pill, watch something pleasant on TV (that's what I do), everything is going to be just fine. One thing that I have learned through the years is that our Military is more than capable of handling this situation so there is nothing to worry about. Live long and prosper.

There is no Fort MacCallum Alabama; there used to be a Ft. McClellan in Anniston, Alabama that was decommissioned during one of the 1990s BRAC rounds.

Maybe it's an easy mistake to make; but if you're talking UFOs, facts become very important.

For those claiming the article is misleading in some way, it's important to note that exopolitics as a field seeks valid data points that help piece together the jigsaw puzzle that is government policy on ET life. Three independent accounts of military commanders being out of the loop when it comes to classified projects involving ET life/technology are in the article. The Washington Post has helped to validate that such a process is in fact pretty routine in the national security system where classification trumps military rank. Basically, the chain of command is undermined by the classification system. As for the UFO issue, I doubt the Post will say anything, but it is yielding useful data points in understanding how the classification process can be used to recruit military assets without more senior officers knowing anything.

I think everyone on this planet.Should put a their differences.
Come as one? What I mean is every nation good are bad.
The reason is because something big is coming.I know about the secret space shuttle. Its not for traveling its for something else. The UFO thing is real. Many time they cover it up with different explanation. I seen something but I don't know what? bright lights then shut up fast in the sky now tell me what do you think? but I was smart lol I made share I take the video on my phone:) Now less see if UFO are real are not?

@All second-guesser and daydreamers like 'exopolitcs' (aka Michael Salla) and Marcus from Las Vegas:

Many political and scientific organizations conducted thorough investigations about the readyness of humanity about potential contacts with (alleged) FIS (Foreign Intelligent Species). These activities are bundled within UNOOSA (www.oosa.unvienna.org) - an organization, not well known to mainstream exo-ufoistic enthusiasts and their religious leaders. The fore mentioned institution is nothing more or less than our planetery embassy. All nations on this planet agree, it will take humanity at least a couple of centuries, until our species will have evolved, it can handle FIS-contacts, it's implications; and the technology. If these (alleged) FIS wouldn't share this opionion, they had already showen up in an open and unambigous manner. No such thing happend yet. Hence, exo-ufoism will remain what it was for the last 63 years: A religion with attached conspiracytainment business.

It is a ludicrous assertion that humanity is unable to accept an absolute knowledge of, or "face to face" encounter with, any ET civilization!

Chairman Mao murdered 77 million people and the Bolsheviks and the Soviets murdered 66 million. Hitler roasted 6 million or more in ovens and murdered another est. 12 million, besides!

Famines, droughts, diseases, pestilence, Democrats, wars, depressions, ie., just what do you think WE CANNOT ABSORB?

A flying saucer is TOO MUCH for our fragile eggshell minds?

Get a grip on yourselves. Instead of living this fantasy, write us a good "alien" story with your great imaginations, serve humanity...

I love Hollywood gossip and UFO stories. The guilty pleasures of life I guess. The thing I find most amazing is the amount of ego behind Hollywood stars and people who think we're being visited by so called alien races from the stars. The human ego is all powerful. If you were an alien? Why would you waste your time visiting a hillbilly planet, out of all the billions of galaxies that are out there? Wouldn't you want to visit another advance alien race instead of going off to the hinterlands of the galaxy? The ego of the human mind is all consuming to think we are just that special.
