UFO mystery solved according to Area 51 workers

Five former military personnel have come forward to reveal that they worked at the secretive Area 51 testing facility. While stationed at Area 51 they claimed they worked on top secret CIA and military projects including a supersonic jet that could travel at three times the speed of sound. The appearance and flight performance of the top secret OXCART program led it to being often mistaken as a UFO according to the whistleblowers. A Los Angeles Times article with their testimonies concluded that the UFO mystery has been solved. Before celebrating the solution of the UFO mystery, it’s worth considering some information that the LA Times article did not.

The LA Times article, "The Road to Area 51" was written by investigative author, Annie Jacobsen. She was able to interview the five retired military personnel due to a 2007 CIA decision to declassify fifty year old files concerning the OXCART or A-12 spy plane. This allowed the five to come forward for the first time to reveal their former classified activities. All revealed their roles in the CIA’s top secret development and testing of the OXCART - Lockheed's replacement for the U-2 to carry out spy flights over the Soviet Union. Satellites were still in development at the time so spy planes like the OXCART and U-2 were a way of secretly gathering intelligence of Soviet operations. If a 1997 CIA History is to be believed, the UFO mystery was exploited as a convenient cover for spy planes like the U-2 and OXCART.

What is overlooked in Jacobsen’s article is that many thousands of UFO reports predate the OXCART, U-2 and similar high performance spy planes. In the 1940s and early 1950s, many credible military personnel openly reported their experiences with UFOs that could easily out perform the most advanced fighter jets at the time. The UFOs could accelerate from low to supersonic speeds, become stationary, make right angle turns, and could be the size of aircraft carriers. UFO flight performance suggested some kind of antigravity technology which was at the time only a concept. In the mid-1950s, research on anti-gravity technology became highly classified and was removed from open source literature. Nick Cook from Janes Defense Weekly believes that this is when the development of antigravity technology went black.

The steady leak of credible military testimonies since 1947 fed public interest in the UFO mystery until 1954 when Joint Army Navy Air Force Publication 146c was issued. It was now an offense for military and civilian aviation personnel to disclose to the public any UFO sighting that was under official investigation. A year earlier, in 1953, the CIA convened Robertson Panel recommended a public education program to debunk "flying saucer" reports (the earlier term for UFO) due to fear that the public could be manipulated by enemies of the U.S.

Finally, there are the numerous whistleblower reports about UFO crashes involving extraterrestrial biological entities and a government cover up. The 1947 Roswell Crash, for example, has well over one hundred credible witnesses who have come forward to reveal what they saw. These include the Public Information Officer, Walter Haut, who was responsible for the initial press release that a flying saucer had crashed. In a posthumously released affidavit, he revealed how conflicting press releases were part of a cover up that had been authorized by senior Pentagon officials.

It appears that some government agencies are eager to promote the view that UFO reports are mistaken sightings of classified spy planes and military projects. If the OXCART was capable of Mach 3 in the 1960s and could be confused for a UFO, then it’s natural to conclude that more recent UFO reports are a product of even more advanced classified projects. This is reflected in a March 2009 article in Popular Mechanics on the January 2008 Stephenville UFO sighting. In its report, Popular Mechanics concluded the Stephenville UFO was a classified USAF program and not an extraterrestrial vehicle.

There is little doubt that modern UFO sightings may in some cases be reports of classified aerospace projects. Indeed, if whistleblowers such as Lt Col Philip Corso are to be believed, the U.S. government had embarked on a top secret reverse engineering program of captured extraterrestrial vehicles since at least 1947. The results of these reverse engineering programs could well be a fleet of classified antigravity vehicles (military UFOs) that can match the performance of UFOs with an extraterrestrial origin. If so, that may explain the “non-terrestrial officers” and “fleet-to-fleet transfers” involving ships not on any U.S. Navy registry allegedly discovered by British UFO hacker Gary McKinnon.

Activities at Area 51 will remain a secret for some time to come, and the public misled over classified activities related to the UFO phenomenon. Recent articles by the LA Times and Popular Mechanics at best only cast light on part of the UFO mystery through their selective use of whistleblower testimonies and declassified documents of CIA and military projects. Those interested in finding the truth, need to dig deeper and consider all the historic evidence concerning the UFO mystery. The truth can be found in UFO/flying saucer reports from the 1940s and 1950s that led to the retrieval and reverse engineering of advanced vehicles whose origins, according to reliable witnesses, are extraterrestrial.

Really?! mistaken sighting, anyway they couldn't never make their own ships without an original, they had and have UFO materials, even if they pretend the contrary

Do they believe that people is stupid enough to buy it
every day people are witnessin strange things in the sky.

They will not make us believe that it's them up there(a little), naaaaaaa!!!!

Mc Kinnon might discover something it wasn't supposed to, and it might be important, why do they put so much time and energy to extrade him
    think about it

As you write: "If a 1997 CIA History is to be believed, the UFO mystery was exploited as a convenient cover for spy planes like the U-2 and OXCART."
Congratulations, Dr. Salla. It's time to find some alternative. My advice, follow the steps of your intelligent and lovely wife.
You, Michael, have enough sensibility to know when a dead horse is...a dead horse.
You know what I'm talking about.

This reads as very credible information.

I personally have seen other UFO sightings that are totally different than this OXCART type craft.

Does the US Federal government patent their UFO like ship building like everyone else, for each design?

Has anyone ever seen actual patents for UFO ships built by the US Federal government that have to meet all the criteria to patent such a craft or is a a top secret filing process?

    Where are these patient files?

Good information though in this article, but alot of us really expected such truth to come out sooner or later, especially from this area of the United States where many things are tested by the government.

It only follows logically that these types of experiments are always going to go on and people are going to report various sighting of UFO's and IFO's, but call it what they imagine.

I read the LA Times article. It provided good insight to the projects the five men worked on but it's conclusion to the UFO mystery was very weak. It seemed to be a rushed and forced conclusion. The tactic, "what the people don't know, I won't tell them" was utilized by the "investigative author."

I agree with the points made by Dr. Salla. It is also important to note that the five military men worked on compartmentalized projects. They probably didn't have "the need to know" and didn't have clearance to work on other projects. Particularly, projects deemed Above Top Secret. Not to mention, U-2s and OXCART do not have the flight capabilities of UFOs.

Dr. Salla keep beating the dead horse because we know its just playing possum.

Maybe the LA Times article and that Gordon Novel, Dan Smith and Ron Pandolfi story about them wanting to brief Obama about aliens are all part of an attempt to do just the opposite: freeze the story and allow the Rockefeller mob to keep the story secret. Who, in their right mind, would think (formerly Tribune-owned) the LA Times is honest about aliens? Watch for more disinfo slop by criminal elements trying to twist this globally important issue into a pathetic little ball (of their sort).

The more they continue to decieve the public concerning this subject, the harder it will be for the administration , or any future administration to have any credibility in what they say and do when disclosure is finally given. The ability for them to gain our support (and trust) in dealing with their policies with EBE's will be slow in coming.

The CIA is covering up for something in 1947 (the year of their inception) but it has NOTHING to do with OAXCART nor SR-71s. Just as Nick Cook has suggested from CIA whistleblower sources, CIA is covering up for US/NAZI-collaboration from 1945-onward! Operation OverCast/PaperClip is that operation. The CIA tasked one man (fellow Yale Bonesman) to take the Orson Wells War of the Worlds 1938 radio show and create an URBAN MYTH about UFOs being ET spacecraft; all to cover up our secret love affair with NAZI scientists (Von Braun - et al) and spies (Gahlen). When was PaperClip terminated? NEVER! Still ongoing...

Ken Arnold was a CIA operative IMO. Roswell was a failed NAZI saucer test out of White Sands NM. Phillip Corso was an expert liar who worked for another liar at the Pentagon (General Twining). These craft were from GERMANY and POLAND not outer-space nor FRANCE as Corso joked once.

Like you said there was so many credible witnesses it makes you think. Ya know... and what about the papers that came out and then retracted the statements made as seen here alien-ufo-research.com/Roswell

Why would that have happened?? Something is defenatly going on there.
