A report issued by the National Research Council (NRC) in January 2009 has warned of the far reaching consequences of a solar storm hitting the Earth as the sun becomes more active during solar cycle 24 which began in 2008 and peaks around 2012. A March 23 article in the New Scientist discussed the significance of the NRC report which details how a solar storm could wipe out the electrical power grid causing massive disruption in the U.S. and around the planet. The impact of the plasma energy directly bombarding the Earth during a solar storm could lead to electrical power stations being off line for weeks and months at a time, as overworked workers try to repair badly damaged electrical equipment. According to the NRC report, this would lead to “disruption of the transportation, communication, banking, and finance systems, and government services; the breakdown of the distribution of potable water owing to pump failure; and the loss of perishable foods and medications because of lack of refrigeration.” Imagine life without running water from a tap, no refrigeration for storing food, gas for your car, or mass transit due to the power grid being off line for months. Millions of Americans could subsequently die in such a scenario described by Michael Brooks author of the New Scientist article, “Space storm alert: 90 seconds from catastrophe.” Such disturbing scenarios are very possible according to the National Research Council report. Now is the right time for bold action to replace the outdated electrical power grid with a decentralized form of fuelless or 'new energy' generators that can be mass produced for homes, small businesses and essential services.
A workshop was convened on May 22-23, 2008 by the Committee on the Societal and Economic Impacts of Severe Space Weather to “consider both direct and collateral effects of severe space weather events, the current state of the space weather services infrastructure in the United States, the needs of users of space weather data and services, and the ramifications of future technological developments for contemporary society's vulnerability to space weather.” The panel of scientists that met and issued a report warning about the impact of a severe solar storm hitting the Earth based their findings on data concerning the sun becoming more active around 2012. At the time of their meeting, they did not consider what was later revealed by NASA on December 16, 2008 to be a giant hole in the Earth’s magnetosphere that will last the entire 11 year duration of cycle 24. What this means is that the low possibility discussed by the May 2008 panel for solar storms impacting the Earth, is in fact much more likely to occur around 2012 as the sun become increasingly active. Indeed, the increased possibility of solar storms directly impacting the Earth due to the magnetosphere breach will last for the next ten years.
The National Research Council report and the December 2008 NASA announcement concerning a rip in the magnetosphere, together point to severe solar storms directly impacting the Earth and taking out the electrical power grid for extended periods of time around 2012, or collapsing altogether. Therefore, the U.S. and other nations have only two or three years to prepare for life where a centralized electrical power grid become increasingly unreliable or disappears altogether. The need for an alternative electrical power supply for the U.S. and the planet has never been more urgent. Fortunately, a possible solution was supplied by an early 20th century inventor.
An innovative attempt to develop power generators independent of the centralized electrical grid based fossil fuels are found in patents developed by the great inventor, Nikola Tesla (1856-1943). Tesla claimed that he could harness energy from the environment to power electrical devices. He said in 1933:
This new power for the driving of the world's machinery will be derived from the energy which operates the universe, the cosmic energy, whose central source for the earth is the sun and which is everywhere present in unlimited quantities.”
On November 5, 1901, Tesla was granted his first patent for his 'free' or 'new energy' device which he called: "Apparatus for the Utilization of Radiant Energy." Many inventors, inspired by Tesla’s theories and patents, have claimed they have been able to replicate and improve on his basic models. Numerous research papers have been written supporting the feasibility of Tesla’s ideas and patents.
Unfortunately, many inventors of 'free energy' generators and supporters of Tesla’s ideas have been harassed or intimidated by unknown government agencies and/or corporate entities opposed to creation of such devices. Fuelless energy generators threaten vested interests dependent on conventional fossil fuels for providing electricity to the general public. A number of non-governmental initiatives are underway to support inventors wanting to develop new energy generators. These include the New Energy Movement, the New Energy Congress and the Orion Project, all of which are privately funded and seeking public assistance. The time has arrived where inventors and organizations seeking the creation of new energy generators need to be supported. The alternative is to watch the centralized electrical power system become increasingly unreliable and even collapse as solar storms sweep over the planet as Solar Cycle 24 moves into its active phase. President Obama needs to urgently support an ambitious plan to develop and supply American families, small business and essential services with small scale new energy generators.

As the first few weeks and months of Obama's administration drag on, it's becoming clear that he's just filling a roll, and has no interest or capability in pursuing anything beyond what a president is normally expected to say and do. I's clear based on his lame excuse to not "look backwards" in holding Bush & Co. responsible for their 8-year crime spree; his war-mongering position now to escalate the Afghanistan war; and his complete silence about such taboo things as the UFO phenomeon and free energy, that this is just another corporate shill, and that it's going to be business usual for the next four years.
So how will this solar strom effect my solar panels???? What will it do to them?

Fantastic article. This new energy has been around for over 100 years and has been actively squashed by war-mongering industrialists obsessed with maintaing their control over the world. I cannot understand why Barack Obama continues to talk about clean coal, biofuels, nuclear technologies, and other outdated forms of energy. None of these forms would solve the real problem facing our world today: that a centralized, elite few control the masses through making a centralized power grid necessary by suppressing real technological energy breakthroughs. We cant really afford to use fossil fuels or nuclear power anymore, I dont think personally the Earth can take much more of this kind of abuse. The orion project is a fantastic initiative, and I highly recommend that people support it. It is time we avenge Nikola Tesla.
One of the reasons we haven't got general, large scale access to free energy technology that people overlook abd even refuse to discuss the evidence about is that free energy technology has been weaponised and it was used on 9/11 to destroy the WTC.
Until we can work out who pushed the button, it's going to be very difficult to get anything on a large scale - we'll be stuck with the smaller scale HHO and Bedini motor projects.

Yes, the ET's will be concerned baout this, so why is no one (that I am aware of) in the exopolitics community discussing this evidence? They discuss the deactivation of Nukes by craft, so why don't they discuss the WTC turning to dust, with little or no heat in 10 seconds?

Solar panels wired to high voltages will be affected the worst. The solution is to wire to 138 volts open circuit with battery systems. Arcing may occur during a solar event on a solar array at high voltage. If anyone can produce a working model to test of a free energy Tesla device call me. Stop BSing a show the goods.
Ben Franklin created the post office and coined the word battery but his stoves smoked out the house and his daylight savings time idea is a flop. Tesla did great with AC current but his others ideas flopped too. Tesla is gone so move on.
It would be a good thing if the elegance of Science could produce a collectivized notion as to the absurdity of all of this nonsense about politicizing energy usages, and I support the free market.
Found for free online at www.blacklightpower.com is a text with with more than just the truly amazing history of the fact that nuclear, the strongest energy of three basic varieties of energy (or spectrums), is superseded by a 'non-radiative' energy in the form of black matter, totally pollution free, and that makes up most of the matter in the universe. Thirdly, or the weakest of the lot are conventional fuels that 'burn' or radiate, such as coal, oil, and others. (Robert Kirshner at Harvard, et al received a prestigous award for validating one small portion of Randell L. Mills treatise about the reality of this socalled 'black matter based on only observation'.) Mills text is none other than The Grand Unified Theory of Classical Physics, about 70 years after the prediction of its coming into being. Thus, the paradigm of either form of energy, nuclear or radiative is dismissable, and elegance WINS again! Again, I support all forms of competition in this regard. Unfortunately, the larger context points to management strategies that have yet to be implemented because if you read James Lovelock, one with equal credentials to Mills, we are past the point of no return for having tipped the planet's 'fever mechanism' to oust us for our error. Only the combination of his strategies with Mills' offers any true hope, as I see it.

Inventors all had good and bad days. Einstein anounced his therory of everything only to retract it, it was a disaster for him. Tesla was crushed when the Marconi brothers did the first radio transmission over the Atlantic. He died pennyless. His free power devices have never been seen to work. I'll say the same as Art Bell, " someone show me one and let me test it". One would think that after all the talk someone could have sent him one to test, he is no slouch. There is plenty of talk but no walk. PV and hot water solar works.
The physics are sound and it's proven over and over again. Anyone in the new energy business must be vigilant against free energy devices and perpetual motion machines. Scammers are working hard these days to fool the innocent. This is not to take anything away from the greats; they all had their good and bad days. There is no free ride on energy mountain.

It is unfortunately the stench of "making money and greed that has embedded itself in many a government organisation. I hate to say it, but if the theories and calculations for such catastrophes are true we are doomed. There are humans dying around the world just through lack of food alone, a simple commodity that can be supplied by richer countries, richer people. What makes us think that the world will change. They won't. Sure the technology is there and it has been dveloped but the rich will hold it to themselves. Survival of the fattest my friends is what the selfish human race has lowered itself to.
I hope the rumours are not true, as I said if they are we are doomed..Get your solar panels, batteries and inverters and hope for the best.

when it DOES hit, why cant airplanes from britain just bring us some water and stuff? then NOBODY will die.
IF--note that I said IF--this happens, it really won't effect the ENTIRE world. Plus, Earth's magnetic field is pretty sturdy, so that should protect us from most of the storm that might occur. Not to mention that the worst recorded solar storm in history was in 1859, and that just knocked out telegraph lines.
