For all of us that continue to feed our addiction to fashion blogs, we all know we’re obsessed with the amazing Gala Gonzalez. Originally from A Coruna, Spain, Gala, now a resident of London, England, started her blog three years ago as an outlet for her interest in fashion. With a naturally eclectic style that doesn’t follow any other guidelines but her own, this 23-year-old has attracted an international following. With creative interests that range from music to cinema to art to even ballet, there’s no wonder where this girl gets all her inspiration. Here’s a sneak peak into Gala’s world.
Q: You obviously have an amazing gauge on mixing high and low-end pieces. Who are your favorite designers currently?
A: Albert Elbaz, Donna Karen, Coco Chanel, Balenciaga, Alexander Wang, and Marc Jacobs.
Q: What basic item (i.e., vneck tee, cardigan, blazer, etc.), to you, is the most versatile?
A: A black blazer or a pair of gray skinny jeans.
Q: In your opinion, what is the key to having universally great style?
A: Mixing trends with a little bit of a sophisticated and classic touch.
Q: Do you consider yourself someone that's big on trends? Why or why not?
A: I like challenging myself and betting others on what’s going to be hot or not. But if you study the trends and understand the theory of bubble up and trickle down, you can more or less guess how they'll work in the future.
Q: What's the best source you go to to get the best fashion news/updates?
A: I love Stylenoir (uk's website) for fast fashion gossip. I adore the girls from WhoWhatWear and of course, Style.com.
Q: For what specific reasons are your favorite designers the ones you admire most?
A: Some of them just are, others are just doing a great job right now. I don't know how long I'll be into their work. For me, Albert Elbaz has put it down in a big style, and apart from Balenciaga himself, YSL ,or Coco, not many designers are ever going to achieve what he has in modern days.
Q: What's one piece of clothing you won't leave the house without this summer?
A: My Balenciaga striped navy tee.
And there you have it. Gala’s got some fly style and a pretty little face to go with it. So keep an eye out, because by the looks of it, she’s just going to keep those heads turning.
