Mixed feelings on the possibility of Michel Vick as HSUS spokesman

The Humane Society of the United States and Michael Vick are considering teaming up to spread the message that dog fighting is a crime and it can cost you everything.
I have mixed feelings about the idea. From a humane education standpoint I can see the value in having a high profile name like Vick in your corner. You can't argue that he appeals to dog fighters, who are mostly young males.
But what if the NFL reinstates Vick? What then? Doesn't that send a different message - that getting caught dog fighting doesn't really carry that stiff of a penalty? Get caught. Go to jail. Go back to the NFL. And no permanent consequences.
