A workout that's fun!  Source

For many people exercise is a frightening word. It conjures up images of sweat, hyperventilation and the fear that friction will cause your spandex covered thighs to catch fire. Add the public humiliation of a gym to the mix and most people give up before they really get started.  Thankfully there are options like EA Sports Actiive.

Check out this slideshow of the game in action.

EA Sports Activeis a great mix of cardio and strength training. Personalized workouts, fun challenges, and a variety of music choices keep this Wii based fitness program interesting. You’ll no longer be bored with the same old routine.  It’s convenient too. No more worrying about how you look in your sweats. No more hauling stuff to the gym.  It’s just you, the Wii and your determination. (Unless you leave the blinds up. Then it may be you, the Wii, and the neighborhood busybody.)

Some of the exercises include boxing, lunges, shoulder presses, running, inline skating, and squats. You can choose your intensity level and even skip an exercise should it be too difficult at the moment. Besides the Wii disk, the package also includes your resistance bands (with easy minor assembly) and the nun chuck holder for your thigh.

Endorsed by Bob Greene and retailing for around $59.95, less than a yearly gym membership, you get a fun, effective workout that lets you be in control.
