Digital distributor GamersGate has listed the popular MMORPG Eve Online at 50% off. Now through the weekend the space sim can be picked up for only $7.50.

Eve Online has players navigating customizable ships through a universe of over 7,500 star systems, most of which are connected by jump gates. Iin-game professions and activities include mining, manufacturing, trade, exploration and combat through both PvE and PvP modes.

From the game's description:

EVE is a world far away from mankind's original habitat, planet Earth. How far away, and where, no one knows. Humans got there through a natural wormhole, and gazing upon a sky never before seen, were completely unable to determine the whereabouts of this new world. From the system of New Eden, where the gate of EVE that once led to the old world lies, humans expanded in all directions at a great pace, exploring and colonizing.

APOCRYPHA EXPANSION:

The fabric of space itself will be transformed as vast, unpredictable wormholes open to connect previously un-explored regions of the universe to the stars of New Eden. The seeds of advanced new technology await inside of these cosmic anomalies for those brave enough to explore them.

Play on one server - EVE Online is a leader in online gaming technology, hosting hundreds of thousands of players in the same persistent universe.
Liberating advancement - Never "grind" for a skill again. Because the EVE universe is persistent, your skills increase even while you're offline.
PvP (Player vs. Player) based on strategy, not levels - Tactics have value in EVE Online. Experience and treachery will often beat top-of-the-line modifications and fancy ships.
Free EVE Online expansions - You will never be charged for an EVE expansion - as the EVE universe grows, so do the benefits of your subscription.

EVE Online is a subscription based massively-multiplayer online game. When you purchase the full version of EVE Online you receive a key that you will use in the installation process. With your key you will receive a complimentary 30 days subscription. When your 30 days of complimentary subscription ends, to continue playing you will need to subscribe to CCP Games.

Eligibility: Age 13 and older.
