Jamie King and Gary Foreman, co-founders of Rockstar Games famed for the Grand Theft Auto franchise, have announced the forming 4mm Games, a gaming venture that will utilize the web to introduce new properties before they make their way onto mobile and console platforms.

The New York-based company plans to introduce games online or platforms like the iPhone before expanding them to consoles and handhelds from Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo; a strategy that allows the group to test-market games while building a fanbase by introducing content and other tie-ins to bring excitement to the properties.

Two unknown titles are being developed at 4mm, with the first expected to hit within a year.
