While it does not seem to bother the Democrats in Congress that Obama is sending $2 billion to Brazil to drill for oil offshore and create jobs for Brazilians, Sarah Palin is asking questions about it.

The Wall Street Journal reports

The U.S. is going to lend billions of dollars to Brazil's state-owned oil company, Petrobras, to finance exploration of the huge offshore discovery in Brazil's Tupi oil field in the Santos Basin near Rio de Janeiro. Brazil's planning minister confirmed that White House National Security Adviser James Jones met this month with Brazilian officials to talk about the loan.

One question is why Obama prefers to support Petrobas in Brazil and not drilling for oil in Alaska which would add to the United States energy independence.

Is it because he has sold out the ordinary Americans to the extremist environmentalists who helped to elect him?

And why is he not using that $2 billion to support the thousands of small businesses in the United States so they can hire people and expand their operations?

Obama seems to disregard that the money he is sending to drill for oil in Brazil is from hard-earned tax dollars that should be helping the United States recover from the recession.

The United States has an abundance of oil and natural gas but the Democrats are determined not to allow the individual states to develop their own natural resources that are on federal land and offshore. With an unemployment rate at 9.4% and expected to reach 10% in the near future, this could provide jobs for thousands of Americans who are now forced to collect unemployment insurance.

Obama needs to answer the question of why he is sending $2 billion to Brazil instead of investing money in Americans and American resources and its energy future.
