Rihanna

Two LAPD officers have been placed on a forced leave due to an internal investigation into how a photograph of then beaten and battered pop singer Rihanna was leaked to the TMZ Web site.

The photos of Rihanna are from her February 8th incident with former boyfriend Chris Brown.

The two officers, nine-year veteran Rebecca Reyes and rookie Blanca Lopez, have not had any charges filed against them.

Reyes attorney told the Los Angeles Times, “My client did not do anything for financial gain. She did not sell the photo.” Both officers have been “assigned to home” until the investigation has been completed.

Rolling Stone previously reported,

Chris Brown’s lawyer Mark Geragos claimed that the leaked photograph prevented his client from getting a fair trial. Brown pleaded guilty to felony assault and accepted a sentence of five years probation and 180 days of physical labor.
