Bob Dylan's video promoting his "Christmas in the Heart" CD is out on You Tube, and it's a hoot. Bob wears a Santa hat and a wig, (straight grayish hair) it's set in a house all decorated with Christmas cheer, and populated by a large cast of revelers. Bob plays bartender, he dances in a circle, he dances the polka with a woman, (pretty sprightly!) everyone is pretending to have a really good time and it looks like they really are. There's a slight story line, of some younger guy coming in a busting up the happy proceedings, breaking bottles, swinging from the chandelier, and finally he jumps out of the window and runs off into the night. By this time Santa has appeared, and at the end he and Santa give each other a knowing look and shrug. Guess who won't be getting any gifts this year? It's all great fun, and kind of redeems the song itself, which is pretty weird for Bob, (see my review of the CD) but hey, he's got nothin' to prove, right? Ho ho ho, cherry nose, must be Santa!
