Metal Gear Solid Rising
Kojima will be straying away from the great MGS 4 engine for Rising. In the latest Kojima Productions Report Podcast, Kojima reveals that Metal Gear Solid: Rising won’t be utilizing the same engine as Metal Gear Solid 4.

As Metal Gear Scholar notes: "We're redoing the engine from scratch, and it's going to look amazing. It's going to be a big project like Metal Gear Solid 4. The entire team is serious about making it look as good as possible on every platform."

Though promising a better looking title, will this new engine truly prove to be the improvement we come to expect from Kojima? The jump from Metal Gear Solid 2 to Metal Gear Solid 3 was quite an improvement. Will we see it again? I sure hope so, but MGS4 is still one of the greatest looking games this generation and that won’t change. One must wonder whether or not the engine isn't being used again because the game will be on the 360. Perhaps the 360 can't handle the MGS4 engine and to make the game look "better" than MGS4 they'll simply retool their assets and focus on other areas.
