On Monday, October 26, Stan Strembicki had a photo exhibit, "Memory Loss/Lost Library," open at MTSU in the Baldwin Photographic Gallery. Stan Strembicki has been in the photographic business since 1984, photographing the streets, people, and events of New Orleans. He is a professor of photography at the Washington University in St. Louis, MO.
After Hurricane Katrina hit New Orleans, Strembicki didn't photograph the damage that was done to the homes or cars, but instead was interested by the personal items that were found strewn about in the Lower Ninth Ward.
Stan Strembicki received the Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of Rhode Island and the Masters of Fine Arts from the California Institute of the Arts.
On Monday, November 9, at 7:30 PM in the Bragg Mass Comm 103, there will be a lecture given by Stan Strembicki. There will also be a reception in the gallery after the lecture is finished.
To see the exhibit, you can go to the Baldwin Photographic Gallery from now through Wednesday, December 9. The exhibit is free and open to the public. The hours of the gallery are as follows:
