There's a rumor circulating on the internet about Robert Pattinson.
I know, what else is new?
The buzz today, however, is that Twilight star Robert Pattinson is interested in one day playing Bond... James Bond.
Although Daniel Craig is secure in his role as 007 for now, Pattinson is said to have long dreamed of playing the part.
And with his good looks, charm, and British pedigree, he might just get the opportunity.
For now, Pattinson, 23, will have to be content working with former Bond actor Pierce Brosnan who will play his father in an upcoming film titled "Remember Me."
Production on the project has already begun in New York.
Alongside Brosnan, Pattinson will play "a young man whose brother's suicide ended his parents' marriage."

One day I;d like this to be true but not yet. Personally I dont care for Daniel Craig at all. The Bodn films have been extremely boring lately. The last one was dire. Rob does have the comedic chops to pull this role off but I think he can do better to be honest.
Michael I;d rather he played Jeff Buckley in the bio pic or Houdini in Summit's new franchise. Bond has had its day.The last two Bond films have been so over rated. They are quite charmless.
Rob has the charm to play the role but Bond isnt what it was. I hated the last one with Craig.
I would rather Pattinson played the lead in Dune.
He'd make a fabulous Bond but there's a huge amount of other roles I;d rather he played. He would be great at bringing back the charm and humour to the role and he's obviously the most gorgeous looking man alive. They said the last Bond would be a young Bond but Craig is ancient. He's very wooden in the role. So yes bring on Pattinson.
I doubt Rob said this to be quite frank. He's a well read guy and I'm sure there a zillion roles he'd love to play and far more interesting than Bond.
Rob wants to play roles like John Self in Martin Amiss's MONEY when he;s older and not archaic roles like Bond.

He will be good in any part, he has great range and ability which is great for him. He is not locking himself into type casting and at his age the sky's the limit.

Funny, considering that the Bond novels are considered some of the best spy novels ever written.,, I bet you've never heard Ian Fleming have you?
Craig was as wooden as could be in the last two films. So boring. The last film was just terrible. Rob should stay away from thid drivel. He does throw a good punch though as the remember me photos from last night show.
Daniel Craig is so ugly. He has a the face of deflating balloon. Horrible looking bloke and really showing his age. Rob should stay clear of this aged franchise.
The Craig fan is so funny. He's writing as if its 1954 and women dont read books. Wake up man. The Bond people should bite Pattinson's hand off. He can bring in a huge female fanbase. But I dont think Pattinson would be that stupid. He can have an interesting career and wouldnt want to be dragged down by this stale charmless Bond franchise

Pattinson is a young exciting new actor and shouldnt want to be saddled with an old tired franchise. Reboot my a*se . Its still creaking. Pattinson needs to develop a new franchise to have as a banker which will then give him scope to do other more testing work on the side. The way that Mat Damon uses the Bourne franchise to support the rest of his career. Bale needs his Batman and Pattinson needs a new role too. I'm not sure Summit's Houdini is the answer. Maybe Summit could kick start their Pompeii script that Robert Harris had developed from his book a while back.It stalled due to the strikes. Its a great story and the lead character could be used for a number of spin off stories. The first story also has a strong role for a woman so Pattinson could pair up with an up and coming actress.
I want Rob to do the Dune film or Battleships. Both to be directed by Peter Berg. Stuff Bond.
He is full of potential that needs to be carefully explore.we will just watch and see awhat he can do with his talent
I think the fascination with Pattinson (not by teens and Twi diehards) is his "potential". He is 23 and good looking, yet like many others, such as I am, is waiting for that grown up gorgeousness when he turns 30. In his films, he showed acting potentials, but he is yet to be given a role that will bring out his hidden Johnny Depp talents (has not seen that yet--there are glimpses of that talent, but quite tepid yet). I am one of those fans who are admiring, but observing critically. I would probably see all his movies though because he is fascinating on screen - - - he got that rare screen presence.
Gotta admit Twilight got me to Robert Pattinson and his other films.
In all his other films (yap seen it all after Twilight), his acting was commendable. But in Twilight, he posed a lot, like a model. He was filmed more for his looks more than anything else, no matter how much people say --there is action, there is drama, etc.--in Twilight, he was being filmed to be handsome. He barely emote anything in that film. BUt what the heck, that's the role right? A perfectly handsome creature.
The Bond franchise is anything but stale right now, with Daniel Craig, probably one of the best actors of his generation in the UK right now, at the lead.
Maybe in 10 years time Patterson could do it, maybe not, though Bond can result typecasting and can limit your career choices.
Though something tells me that there's one anti-Bond/Craig person here posing as many different people trying to get attention for slamming the franchise. A bit sad if you ask me.
Awfurfockssake! Seriously?! I love ya Rob, but sorry, I can't see it. You'll have to "grow" a wee bit (well more than a wee bit, actually)into THAT part...still terribly young and lank. Bond is a role for an older, more seasoned gent. Not that Rob's no good at his job, he's just not "right" for the part...at least NOT YET! Also, to play 007, the actor has to hold his own for the physical action scenes...and look natural while doing so. Sorry, Rob, but from what I've seen, you're as big or bigger a "klutz" than I! If you truly wish to play Bond someday, take karate, do something!...and for the love of God man, pimp your M.O. and appear more confidant! Rob's living proof that it IS entirely possible to be TOO English to play Bond (perhaps the reason they gave it to my fellow Scot, Connery?) Here's hoping Rob will age this idea in the cellar for another 10 years. On a personal note; Rob, as goofy sassanacks go, you're right adorable despite yourself! ;)
The first thing that needs to be done is to pay some good writers to be involved in the future Bond projects. Barbara Broccoli has been killing the franchise since her father died. Daniel Craig isn't helping. He's boring.
