Summer Breeze Bike Tour

Take 470 east from the Grandview triangle to Exit 5, View High Dr., then south (right) to the Longview College Campus. Turn west (right) just before the college at 3rd Street.

45, 70 and 100 mile routes available. FULL SAG service and traditional "extra" goodies with a picnic style meal at the Raymore SAG stop.
Enjoy a beautiful rural ride on the gently rolling hills of southern Jackson and Cass counties. The ride features full SAG service and traditional "extra" goodies with a picnic style meal at the Raymore SAG stop. This is an official training ride for the AIDS Bicycle Challenge, Sept. 12, and the Bike MS, Sept. 29. The ride offers perfect distances to train for other fall tours with our 45, 70, & 100 mile routes.
KCBC members get a ride discount. JCBC members also get a ride discount. Contact your bike club for the registration code - you will need it for on-line registration.

8th Annual Head for the Cure 5k Run & Walk

Join thousands of runners, walkers, family supporters, volunteers, sponsors and charitable vendors at Head for the Cure 5k Run & Walk, defeating brain cancer step by step!
The flat, self-contained course is USATF-certified and winds through the beautiful tree-lined Corporate Woods in Overland Park. Awards will be given to the overall winners and top finishers in all age categories for both men and women.
In just eight years, Head for the Cure has raised nearly $1 million to help find a cure for brain cancer. This year's celebration of lives and legacies in the fight against brain cancer will be the best yet!

Brief Description
A super fun run for individuals, teams & families, with a MUD PIT to cross. New this year: a Mud Slide!
Costumes are encouraged & prizes will be awarded in many categories!
Spend part of your weekend getting down and dirty. Post race facilities will be provided to "clean up your act". For those that just want to GET MUDDY: a 1-Mile "Mud Dunk" Run. Babysitting with kid activities will be available.
And, it's a Family Picnic: Lunch will be served after the run! Bring your blanket or chairs
Course: Easy-going fun run on unpaved dirt roads, (with a little pavement) in a park setting. You will get muddy in our large mud pit! We have added obstacles to make the course more challenging!

As most of you know Mother Nature once again forced the Shawnee Mission Park Triathlon to be Canceled! We would like to once again extend a special registration fee for those athletes who weren't able to compete or take advantage of this great deal earlier this season! If you haven't already registered for the Midwest Meltdown Triathlon and Duathlon and you missed Early Bird Pricing here is your chance to save some $$$! Bring your bib number and/or proof of registration from the Shawnee Mission Park Triathlon to one of the two packet pick-up locations listed below and you will receive Early Bird Pricing with no late fees! This offer is ONLY Valid at the packet pick-up locations listed below and only valid for the Midwest Meltdown Triathlon and Duathlon! This is a $30 savings if you register as an individual and a $50 savings if you're registering as a team. You must have your bib number and/or proof of registration to be eligible!

Short Course Triathlon - Swim: .75 Kilometers, Bike: 10.42 Miles (2 laps), Run: 5K
Short Course Duathlon, Run #1: 1 Mile, Bike: 10.42 Miles (2 laps), Run #2: 5K
5:30 A.M. Athlete Body Marking & Chip Pick-up begins.
6:30 A.M. Swim Course open.
7:00 A.M. Full closure of the entrance in and out of park. Traffic will not be allowed in or out of the venue after this time until the races are completed. All spectators will need to arrive at the proposed time due the road being closed for the event and safety reasons.
7:15 A.M. Swim Course will close. Athlete Body Marking & Chip Pick-up ends.
7:30 A.M. Long Course Triathlon and Duathlon Starts.
8:30 A.M. Short Course Triathlon Starts.
