Famous jackets and suits of Elvis Presley and The Beatles for sale in auction

Today, the Icons and Idols Auction from Julien's Auctions in Beverly Hills starts a four-day run. The auction features items personally owned by the most famous music and film stars including Elvis Presley and The Beatles.

A black leather jacket once owned by Elvis Presley has an estimated value of $10,000 to $12,000. The jacket was designed by Fred Segal exclusively for Elvis and has a label that reads "Exclusively Designed for Elvis Presley by Fred Segal." Elvis wore the jacket in the mid-60s and then gave it to friend and Memphis Mafia member, Joe Esposito, in 1971.

Two of The Beatles stage suits, one worn by John Lennon and the other worn by George Harrison, are also included in the auction, each with an estimated value between $10,000 and $15,000. Both suits were made by D.A. Millings and contain the company label.

The Lennon suit, a grey wool collarless suit with black piping, was worn on stage in 1963. The Harrison suit was worn on stage during the performance segment of the 1964 Beatles' film, A Hard Day's Night. Both suits were previously on display at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland.
